Is this the tradeoff for being multi-orgasmic?

Probably, but just remember, we're the only ones with a body part whose sole function is sexual pleasure.

Of course, statistics are just that. They don't reflect individual experience. For example, while receiving oral is a useful prelude to penetration (comparable on that score to rimming before anal), it doesn't do much for me otherwise. So I wouldn't be in that 80+% group.

On the other hand, the statistics on anal are pretty wild, though not shocking. (And, as pointed out, less reliable because of the number of respondents.) The lowest % of men who orgasmed gave anal or received oral? Kinda counterintuitive, though in one case, possibly due to the paucity of respondents.

Worth mentioning, though, that the two lowest men's scores are still nuzzling the 90-mark. As I may have shared before, the worst sex I ever had was pretty darn good. eye_roll.gif

True! Men have much more of a guarantee of orgasm than women. The male/female gap seems (and often is) awfully unfair. So is the effect of aging, which is to what I attribute going from being reliably orgasmic without manual stimulation to not. Though penis size has a bearing on this as well; the larger the dick, the less likely an orgasm (in my experience), especially at first.

But (and this is something I thought of while reading and responding to other threads) women are also capable of orgasm without any contact whatsoever (including women who can think or visualize themselves to orgasm) or without genital or sexual contact. Not all women, and not all the time, but still. That unpredictability can be fun, but it's also frustrating.

From a biological/evolutionary standpoint, isn't it more important that men have orgasms as without it (broadly speaking) there aren't going to be any little ones running around? So orgasm wouldn't be as important for females evolutionarily except maybe as a bonding (that's bondING not bondAGE:p:D) experience. Or maybe the more fit you are as a male the better you are at "giving" females orgasms and so are the better mate.

Finally, score one for us smaller guys!!!

But how often does this occur?

But I have a question on the 'giving oral'. How many of you have ever had an orgasm by giving someone oral without also stimulating yourself manually at the same time?

When you see the high orgasm rate for women whose last sexual encounter was anal, remember that this wouldn't necessarily be the case for women in general.

For example, a Journal of Sexual Health study quoted in Salon says that 20 percent of women aged 18-19 and 40% of women aged 20-24 have tried anal sex. (Feel free to check to original study to see what the percentages are in other age groups. ) Yet only about 10% of women in the current study reported that their last sexual encounter involved anal. These are likely women who are having anal frequently--and presumably enjoy it. Hence the high orgasm rate.

Precisely why many women AND men are going for bio-identical hormone replacement therapy which just about always includes Testosterone for BOTH men and women. In my humble experience just about all women who are peri- or menopausal are deficient in Testosterone (which is good not just for libido/sexual function, but also for general good health, lean v. fatty muscle, bone support, etc.). Most men over the age of 50 are also low on Testosterone, if measured by FREE Testosterone and compared with levels from their 20's. And yes, it is safe and does not cause cancer (if you read the latest reports)
