My ideal massage is professional and therapeutic along with the sensual elements blended in. I've found a few guys here and there who do that, so that you feel that your muscles are receiving a genuine massage benefit, while still being erotically stimulated. One of the first questions I ask is "Is your massage on a table". Even if the ad says "i have a table" i try to always ask to confirm.

Every now and then I forget to ask, or I read an that says "I have 15 years of experience, license in two states, and worked for several spas" and I make the assumption there's a table, and forget to explicitly ask.

But in general, if there's not table, I pass. I've had one or two guys try to deliver on the bed, but most of the time for me it's a red flag that the session will be a mediocre tug-and-rub.

So. the question is.. are there ANY guys out there who do a solid professional job on the bed?

I have had some very good massages on a bed. A lot depends on the firmness of the bed, and the size of the masseur! If your masseur is slim and muscular, or short that does help. I think that a lot depends on the skill of the masseur. I have also had very good erotic massages on a mat on the floor, but I find that less comfortable for me, although in both cases the massage was excellent, and they were very erotic, as the masseur has to be in very close proximity to you the entire time, and can't back away !!!!! :D That being said, I do prefer a massage on a table, and have sometimes had them start on a table and end on a bed. :)

The answer to your question is yes -

but it depends on the type of massage.

If you’re seeking deep tissue pressure (serious therapeutic) a real table is the way to go. Preferably an incall to the masseurs studio where the table is familiar and adjusted for him. Deep tissue can be done on the floor (outcall to a hotel room) but probably won’t have the best result. My understanding is there’s actually a risk of physical injury to the client if serious therapeutic is conducted on too soft a surface.

If you’re seeking moderate and/or lighter pressures (sensual) a firm bed should work fine. I’ve had very nice massages laying crosswise near the foot of the bed (queen). That allows the masseur to to stand while working his magic on most portions of my body. In my case it actually feels relaxing to me to kind of hang my head over the edge of the bed. Another option would be to use a twin bed with your head at the bed’s foot end.

This probably doesn’t apply to erotic massage or escort sessions but, with masseurs, I think it’s more important is to find a masseur (or two) you’re comfortable with and give them your business. The first couple of massages with a new masseur are always interesting - but I’m never really relaxed. Once you get to about the third session you’re comfortable with each other. You know the masseurs routine and can focus on relaxing. You get a better massage if you relax.

You make a very good point, not2rowdy, as being relaxed is the key to a great massage. I have found a couple of times that when I had scheduled an erotic massage, I was not very relaxed to begin with, and did not appreciate the massage as much as I might have done, especially if it is the first time with that masseur. It had nothing to do with the masseur, but everything to do with me, my anticipation, my expectations, etc., especially with someone for the first time. I also agree that it is great to find someone with whom you are comfortable and can become a regular with that person, as it does mean that you are relaxed and can forget about what is happening or going to happen, and thus enjoy the massage(s) even more.

In one of those situations, the masseur stopped shortly after he began, and had me do a bunch of deep breathing exercises to try and get me to be more relaxed. That helped a lot, and I did relax and enjoyed the massage so much more.

Andy in Chicago (now retired) gave me a great massage on a bed. The mattress was firm and very long, which was great for me as I am 6'4" and am often too tall to fit comfortably on a massage table. A guy whose name I can't remember gave me a massage on my bed and it was also very good.

I think there's only been one time I had a massage on a bed that was even . remotely.. thorough, focused and professional . just seems like Why take the chance? Ok you MIGHT get a good massage on teh bed, but wiht all the other IFs we have to deal with, why add this to the equation.

It happens a lot tho when a masseur is visting. .I am in a hotle and dont have my table, but I've been doing it for 15 years and am certified..etc..etc. .THIS is what always tempts me again.

Like Nylund mentions, I have had many Thai massages performed on a mat on the floor that were the best ever. Lots of stretching was involved and the masseur uses their body to assist. With a bed there is added strain to your neck and support depending on the firmness of the mattress and the skill of the therapist can be an issue. I haven't had a great, only good, one on a bed yet.
