I didn't mean to start a cat fight, PK. The first 6-8 months I participated here, I found this forum to be mostly positive. I found a lot of encouragement and support here. As well as useful advice.

Yes, I endorsed JD in the original thread. And I mentioned the negative, "snarky" tone that was on the rise. But, I realize these things are cyclical, and I only pointed it out in the hope that other members would take a breath and return to the reason for this forum: to help each other.

So please, everyone, carry on as you see fit. I'm only one guy. Take my opinion or leave it. It's worth exactly what you paid for it.

Finally. Very Good. That is something we all can agree on.

Well said sirs! Mean girls always remain mean girls though!

Not true, people know....One can always tell. There are no secrets here.

Or, to say the same thing slightly differently...

I haven't read every comment on the thread, so this may be repetitive, but there is snark (funny, pointed, but not unduly mean rejoinders and observations) and there is snark (everything else). So I find myself in partial agreement with both PK and Truhart.

Unlike Epigonos, I don't mind the term snarky. I appreciate the first form of snarkiness. I even consider myself snarky.

While I don't consider myself a snarkophile, I'm not particularly snarkophobic either. I think a lot depends on whether the topic is actually snarkworthy, as well as the snarkwardness of those who have already responded. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

Well Lookin many of your posts are Snarkerrific. So subtle that one is not sure whether the author is being snarky or not but that if he is being snarky, it is really funny and if he is not being snarky, it is very sensitive.

There's all kinds of things to really be serious about in life... I between those needful and appropriate moments... Snarkasm is an oasis of thirst quenching cheer and joviality~

Some part of life has to be about enjoying it~ More time in life dedicated to laughing~ Imagine a life without it...

A long time ago I was really sad about something... My mentor said: "get off the cross Mary~ We need the wood"~

It made sense to me and made a world of difference in my life~

Snark is one of the foundations upon which this this forum has been based. You can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. Is it hot in here? No, but some people get tired of being fed the same old slop and when a menu change is mentioned, food gets flung and shit gets tossed over and over and over and over again.

So to those that think the snark level has been turned up a notch, I say BAM, you may not have been paying attention.

BVB perhaps you can always tell. You are apparently very intuitive about such things.

I agree with Bigvalboy. Just coming back from a few days vacation in Williamstown, MA.

Wow. This seems to be a thread that will outlive at least one former president and one pope. :):):)

Overheard at a college football game, home team losing badly, a day after the demise of John Paul I: "Boy, they're dropping like Popes out there."
