As many of you have probably noticed, M4RN's Full Website has been updated.

 

I was looking at it early this morning, and after looking at the end pages for several cities, I couldn't tell whether the Location Box still moves up to cover the Contact Box when the ad is inactive. None of the ads I looked at appeared inactive.

 

Have any of y'all noticed this?

It bugged me a bit at first (as all new layouts do), but the new 'grid' option makes up for it - no more 7 escorts per page. Even though that was still only 3 pages, usually, in Detroit.

It was certainly due for an update. I don't mind the new format, however, there are a lot of bugs in the new "near me" feature. The feature ignores people 15 miles away, but includes people 1500 miles away. Obviously, they need to work on that. Something in the algorithm is amiss. Otherwise, the new format isn't at bottom much different from the old one. Things got moved around, but little really changed.

One improvement with the new site is that, when a link to an escort's ad there is posted in these forums, clicking the link when reading the forums on an iPhone now takes you to the ad. Before, it only took you to the M4RN main "click to enter" page.

That problem could and can still be taken care of by switching to the mobile site down at the bottom once the general page pops up.

 

I don't really notice much different except the colors, the boldface/emphasis of the boxes, and the mileage numbers-oh and they added a top/bottom/versatile field. The problem though is going to be if they keep inactive escorts on the site as they used to and we can no longer tell they are inactive.

 

The mobile site hasn't changed as far as I can tell.

Like others, I have noticed the distance/location data to be unreliable. At least with the old design, if I brought up listings in my city I only saw ads for guys living in my area or visiting my area. Now it shows people who, at some point, have been in my area along with guys who are actually in the area. Given that my area is a tourist mecca, it's annoying to have so many inappropriate listings show up in the search results.

It doesn't seem to be as big of a problem with Rentmen for me, maybe because the people who are visitors to my area only show up when they have upcoming trips planned. I swear that Men4rent now just shows me ads for anyone who has ever listed San Francisco as a travel city since I recognize some of the ads from years ago but their current ads make no mention of recent trips here. It's all very strange.

Ah! Duh -- I'll make it into the 21st century one of these days. :rolleyes:

LOL! I did find navigation just a little different but found my way around without too much of a problem. I'll miss JC's picture on the sign in page for M4RN though, almost as much as I miss seeing him since his retirement. It used to always be a reminder of how fine an escort he was and they kept it even after he retired. All things must give way to progress, I guess! o_O:(

I just remember his sexy B&W pic came up every time I went to M4RN. I think I recall that it was the main sign-in/sign-up page with the legal notices where you had to say you understood that you were heading to an adult site and click on "enter!" or "don't enter!" He is retired but he never announced, he just let his website lapse and disconnected his escorting cell phone number. As far as I can tell, he seems quite happy, working at a "normal" job and living somewhat off the beaten path! I still miss him and think about him now and then, though.:(

You can go to webarchive.org and find the older versions of the site and JC's pics. Never knew it was him but definitely great pics.

 

I tried to go to webarchive.org but could not find any older version of M4RN. Maybe I just don't understand how it works? o_O
