you have it correct. I used to go to Toronto several times a year in the mid 90s to early 2000s when their dollar was worth about US$0.67. Flights were cheap (about $150 round trip from DC). And yes, everything was basically "on sale". I loved it. Spent a lot of time and money at Remington's which was in its heyday at the time. So many hot boys, for so little money. And escort rates were lower in general then so it was really cheap if I wanted to see some one outside the club. The city wasn't quite as nice and shiny in those days, the condo building boom was just starting. Many is the time I contemplated buying one of those condos. But eventually things evened out and the currencies were at almost parity. Flights got way more expensive. And I discovered Southeast Asia. So my time in Canada dwindled.

You should come to Buenos Aires. 1 U$S= 14.50 AR$. Market escort fees from on line websites, about 50 dollars.

Hey guys I'm traveling from columbus to Montreal next week. Whats the best way to convert dollars to canadian? My bank charges me a flat 8 dollars but they short me .08 on the exchange. I can do it at the airport but they charge a rate. I can pull from the ATM in canada but then I'm paying a 3% fee. Can I take american cash and exchange it at a canadian bank without being a member of that bank?

time to find a new bank. I opened an account at TD Bank specifically because the type I opened rebates all fees and doesn't screw you with things like exchange fees. So their ATM card has served me very well all over the world. And since there are TD Banks all over Canada there are no fees charged in the first place.
