It has taken me literally 20 years and I finally have tolerable discomfort unless I sit for long periods or am on my feet all day.

I, too, am finally able to do squats but one side is still far weaker than the other and probably will always be so I have to be very careful.

As hard as I have worked, my left side is still weaker than my right. My fusion was an anterior/posterior procedure. They did the approach from the left side and there was some retractor damage to one of the nerves that left my left leg with some paralysis. The paralysis took approximately a year to go away, but my left leg remains noticeably weaker than the right. That's OK. I'll live with it. I've got bigger fish to fry.

Well, me too. A/P approach (one of the early ones - 1995). My left hamstring is about 30% weaker than right and probably will remain that way but I am working on it all the time or else my gait, esp. running is affected. Unfortunately, I am on my feet all the time which is why I have pain.

Bigger fish to fry - you bet! (tho they shouldn't be fried - broiled is healthier)
