I think there is definitely too little info at this stage to decide whether it is too good to be true. You would definitely need to fine out if he is in your price range and whether he will do what you would ask him to. A potential lawyer with that body will probably be kind of pricey but you would have to find out.

Too bad escorting on back page has been ruined by others. It used to be a great site to escort off of but Ive had people tell me that they've tried to hire escorts on back page and they've ended up getting robbed. Too bad people have to ruin things for others.

No there are some honest people on backpage. But I'm sorry to say that at least 40 percent of escorts on back page were not on there to escort just rob people. Yes it happens on rentmen too but not as high of a risk as backpage.

I know people who has been robbed by Rent.men escorts and masseurs. Even by some famous professionals. Thief are in all professions and in all places. Used Backpage once and I was robbed. So I would be very cautious. Yes your right you can be robbed anywhere by anyone. Backpage has no vetting. So I would just say that whatever site you do use, meet in a public place first.

 

I didn't. Gave the person I was communicating with several times my room number. Then even dumber is when he knocked I just opened the door. It wasn't the person he claimed to be. Tried closing the door but I couldn't. He got in the room and saw the money on the counter. Grabbed it and ran out. Had another thug standing outside the door. i was So fucking naïve. The problem I have with many of the BP ads is the overreach. They start with the overly-cutesy headlines stuffed with stupid symbols and emoticons, and go down hill from there. I know they supposedly, and must, appeal to some clientele, but to me they're just offputting and gross. I'll pay much more attention to the ads that look straightforward and hopefully project a friendly, truly professional attitude.

 

Sometimes I do see those more "thuggish" kind of ads on Rentmen as well, but they never seem to last long...

I know that people get robbed - and worse - in all sorts of situations, the overwhelming majority of them having nothing to do with escorts or prostitution or even sex in any sense. I don't know anything about how many people get robbed due to online hookups on any site. I'm sure that it happens. I can't tout statistics on that.

 

One of the wonderful things about forums like this and the daddy's review site is that they allow us to verify, as best we can, the reputations of escorts, so that we can have some measure of feeling safer about who we meet. There are still no guarantees - and we can't even guarantee that all the info we read here is reliable. But it's a start.

 

Though Rentmen is one of the more professionally designed escort sites, and therefore seems to attract a more professional range of escorts and clients, even a site like that is not perfect. The reviews on that site, as they currently are, mean nothing, because there's no place to post any personal detail (i.e. as there is on the daddy's review site) and no real sense of whether someone put any thought in to the ratings. (And as I think I also said to you before, I have heard that escorts can erase/edit bad reviews there. I don't know if that's true, but I have heard that.) Backpage has a much more primitive layout, sitewise, and does seem to attract a less verifiable crowd - however I do know a few reputable guys that advertise there, and I even met someone a few years back off that site who is a respected member of this forum.

 

But yes, you are right that BP is obviously less vetted/moderated then RM. But does that really translate to "100 times more" people getting robbed on BP? I would grant you that one has to be more wary on a site like BP - but I also don't think that's news, lol.

 

Statistics? I don't know. I think what's important is that we always strive to be as sure as we can be about someone before meeting. I admit that I have hedged my bets from time to time, when my upper head finally has a chance to talk down my lower head lol. That has to be a personal judgement. But the point is, we always need be careful, and always be aware there is risk, even if one thinks everything is verified.

 

And, Collinsgotback, I would be extremely surprised if you don't agree with that. I hope you do.

My experience.... for San Francisco Bay Area Backpage.... of the ads that have caught my attention, an overwhelming majority are revealed, by google search of image or phone # search, to have indications of fake/scam.

 

Ive checked out at least two-dozen ads in the past two months..... maybe more. Only two seemed real, one through independent confirmation on this forum (sadly, he wouldnt travel to my area) and one who quoted an outrageous fee.

 

I suspect BP may vary widely between cities.

 

And, my comments are not about all BP, not even SF BP in general...... only the ads that interest me

Also on Rentmen there's Reviews in my opinion if someone has over 10 reviews and there all 5 star you can most likely trust that there in it for the buisiness and not to rob you.

 

Don't be too sure. As has been pointed-out on this Forum, there are fake reviews posted by some, several, fake reviewers.
