On several occasions I have read posts making less than favorable comments about the escorting scene in Philadelphia. I have never hired there. Still, I see, what appears to me to be, good looking men offering services there. and I wonder why the negative comments about the city.

Philadelphia's problem has always been that it is located between New York and Washington. For a long time, the local market was completely dominated by a single escort agency, Premier, which maintained its position with a combination of good management and lower prices than agencies--or individuals--commanded in NYC or DC. Most of their stable were part-time escorts, who wanted the protection and convenience of working for an agency--I never knew an escort who could make a living at it in Philly. The selection of escorts was small and stable--too small and stable--because the ambitious escort soon moved on to somewhere where he could make more money. Premier or local escorts couldn't raise their rates, because clients felt that if they were shopping at Target, why should they pay Macy's prices? It was too easy in an evening to hop the train up to NYC, where they would get more and better choices for their dollars.

 

I haven't shopped in Philly for years, so I don't know if that is still the explanation for the bad-mouthing of the city by both clients and escorts.

When Premier was its peak of popularly there were escorts who started there, left after a year or so, brought their Premier clients with them and gained others.

 

I am thinking specifically of 'Jonathan' who was of the best looking and most reliable escorts Premier ever had to offer.

 

After he went out on his own in the early part of the last decade, he was flown all over the country by clients based on his reviews here and word of mouth. I do agree that he may not have been successful, if 'Jonathan' had just stayed local.

 

I do remember 'Jonathan' saying that Premier was a good place to learn about escorting, but the pay was pretty low.
