Romance is in the air on this season of The Bachelorette. The popular ABC reality show just took a super gay turn.

 

This season’s lady, Kaitlyn Bristowe, thought she had found a potential match. She gave her first one-on-one rose to Clint Arlis. But her heart was quickly broken when he declared his love for another man… His fellow contestant JJ Lane.

 

Gasp!

 

“It’s absolutely insane,” Arlis, who always thought of himself as straight, said during his on-camera interview before dropping the bomb to Bristowe. “I never thought that I’d meet somebody like that. Falling in love with a man never crossed my mind.”

 

There’s a first time for everything, right?

 

Arlis then went on to explain that he and Lane had “grown very close to each other in the shower.”

 

Unfortunately, those scenes were not captured by the camera crew, so we’ll just have to take his word on it.

The Bachelorette Staged The Storyline Of Two Male Contestants Falling In Love With Each Other! They're Both Totally Straight!

 

This week, a promo for The Bachelorette got major buzz because it teased that two of the male contestants were falling in love with — wait for it — each other!

 

The storyline which was dubbed the Brokeback Bachelor seemed a little too good to be true — because it totally was!

 

It's been reported that the contestants Clint and JJ are not in love with each other, and are both completely straight! Sources say that the two guys did develop a bromance in pursuit of Kaitlyn Bristowe, but "nothing gay ever happened."

While this appears to be a publicity stunt, this kind of thing has happened to women, only it's been in the context of women identifying as straight falling for women who identify as lesbian (or bi) or a woman identifying as lesbian falling for a man. Whether it would work that way for two men who identify as straight is more up in the air, although at least one TV show I know (The Following) of posited that it might happen. Okay, so Jacob was less into Paul than Paul was into Jacob, but they still had some form of sex together, even if it was only that one time with Emma involved as well.
