I meant to post this a few weeks ago, when it happened. But life happens and time got away from me. Rob's no longer advertising on Rentboy -- where he's had a regular ad for quite some time and it's important to not confuse him with other Robs in NYC -- so perhaps he knows that it's time for a break or to hang up the sheets (so to speak). In a nutshell, this guy wasted almost five hours of my evening and then cancelled on me as I was waiting for him in the lobby of a hotel -- after I'd paid for the room.

It was a last minute thing so I was giving him a lot of latitude. He couldn't do in calls, but he said getting a hotel would be easy and we planned on meeting at around 8pm -- this was at around 6pm. While I've never had to secure a last minute hotel in the city, I lived there for almost 30 years and was a bit surprised by how complicated it seemed to be -- especially for someone who said it would be easy and seemed to do it regularly. The 8 o'clock hour passed and said he was "going to" book a hotel, but had yet to do so. At 9pm, I said that perhaps we should do it another time -- giving him an easy out. I also suggested a modest hotel -- that he knew -- where one could rent a room for a few hours. (Why we couldn't have done that a couple of hours ago, I don't know?) He agreed and we were to meet there at 10pm.

He said he'd be there, when I arrived, having secured the room and would come down to get me. When I arrived, albeit a bit early, I called him to tell him I'd arrived He said he'd not yet left and started to ask if I'd get the room, but stopped himself and said he'd be there as soon as he could. I decided to secure the room, so we'd be ready to go when he got there. At around 10:15pm I received a dropped call from him and called him back. He said that he'd come to the hotel, looked in from the street, didn't see anyone and walked back home. There are so many ridiculous statements in that sentance that it boggles the mind. He then started to say there was a hotel right near his place, at which point I told him I'd already paid for the room. Upon hearing this he said he'd "walk" back and he hung up. My mind was racing with all of the red flags that just went up -- on top of the ones that were slightly raised during the long process leading up to this point. A few minutes later I received a text -- yes, a text -- saying that he wasn't feeling well and that he was sorry that he'd have to cancel.

Fortunately I was able to get my money back for the room and ultimately, other than being pissed off about having my time wasted and not getting laid, I was no worse for wear. I have two theories about what transpired. The first one, quite obviously, is that something funky is going on with this guy. It could be anything from drugs to financial issues that are driving him to do something he no longer wants to do. The second one is that he did, indeed, show up at the hotel, look inside, saw me and decided I was not to his liking and instead of being a man and owning up to it, he took the coward's way out. If he really was sick would he not have offered to re-schedule, perhaps even at a discounted rate? I didn't bother to respond to the text, but a good professional escort would have handled the situation differently had they truly been suddenly felled.

When I first contacted him, months ago, I inquired -- as I always do -- as to his comfort level with chubs. Since he responded to my initial inquiry, I gathered that he was okay with big boys. I'm sure he didn't remember that I was the same person, since he never seemed to connect me to the previous times I'd contacted him. But once I get that clearance I don't feel the need to beat a dead horse with the issue. In any event, whether one, or both, of my theories are true is irrelevant. While it seems at one point, according to his reviews, Rob was a good escort -- and he may be again. His behavior that night reveals that something's amiss, either with his professionalism, character or both.

Having so many choices in NYC who live there/visit and see guys in their places/hotels, why in hell would you do such a thing with someone who keeps changing the conditions of the agreement over and over again...?

Just call someone who offers incalls, KISS

Anyone who's "last name" is "pound sign, numeral", ie Calvin #5, sends me running the other way. Numbers are not adequate last names, boys, unless the escort is pretending to be the POPE and is engaging in a particular fetish that includes incense, candles, Virgin Mary(s) and, of course, the collection plate. cheers.

You do realize the number assigned to him was given by Daddy to differentiate from the other Robs in NYC. He does not go by Rob #3 in his ad, just Rob. :-)

Rob was former Colt model Marshal Cline & former Body Image model Michael Cole. He was hot back in the day, but I think the barebacking & drugs finally took its toll. The pic on his review page is at least 6 yrs old. Btw, read his review #2, it would make a great scene for a porn movie.

The link above doesn't work and I don't see a Rob in NYC in the Daddy's index (and no Rob#3). Do you think the reviews were moved?

Interesting that your the only one alluding to that. Is this a well known fact or are you just hearing second hand gossip?

It's hard to say since his ad is gone. But I think he listed something about not necessarily playing safe in his ad.

I vividly remember his profile. Sometimes safe. Sometimes drugs. PNP. I thought of hiring him back in the day, but not once he changed his behavior. Btw, did you go read review #2. Sort of a bareback gang bang.

Thank you. I stand corrected. It was Robert Cole. Michael Cole was from "The Mod Squad".:(

You are welcome.

I have a subscription to Legend Men, the website run by Ron Lloyd of Body Image Studios, but neither Robert nor Michael Cole nor Michael Cline appear.

Sorry for the screwed up link, but thanks to Gman for getting it right. Gotta love this board, where we can go from a cautionary tale about an escort to the OG Mod Squad in the same thread. I do feel very fortunate, though, in having an initial run of five very good experiences before I ran into a dud. I'd been hot for Rob/Marshall since before his Colt Days. Another lesson learned on those long-held crushes. Ultimately, all's well that ends well.

He is super hot *swoon*

As for the comments about him being unsafe with his sexual practices, PEOPLE GET YOUR FUCKING PRIORITIES STRAIGHT!!! For fucks sake you think that barebacking is a big issue? Do you have ANY idea how bad crystal meth use is? You guys must live under a rock to think barebacking is scarier.

If you see an escort with PNP checked who has anything other than no for drug use RUN for the hills.

Chris, you only said this 10 days ago. Didn't you read the entire ad?

The reason I compared them is because they were quoted as two issues with the ad, given the severity of one vs the other it seems peoples perceptions of what dangerous is in need of reevaluation. Given the behavioral changes that crystal meth can induce, psychosis and violence seems far problematic than having a manageable disease and if your using a condom then you shouldn't have anything to worry about anyways if he is positive. If your not using a condom with your escorts get on prep
