Anyone else see the "Kiss My Brass" tour? It's outrageous! It is Bette at her best! You'll laugh you ass off as well as be standing on your feet giving sustained ovations after songs like; "When A Man Loves A Woman", "Wind Beneath My Wings", "The Rose", etc. Bette gets political, vulgar, humorous, serious, and kind! You definitely know what she is thinking...she just doesn't know how to keep her opinions to herself! (Good for her!) The set is good and Bette looks GREAT! She plays about a full hour, takes a twenty minute intermission, and then plays almost another full hour.

If you haven't seen it...do! If you did, would love to hear your opinion. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE SHOW?

>Who is Bette Midler?

She's the broad that did a cover of the Andrews Sisters' hit "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" a few years ago. (Like, 20 years ago. :9)

Actually, I'd love to go but I just did a search on findticketz.com. For the February show at Staples, the *cheap seats* are almost $400. Cher was cheaper! :+

RE: Bette Midler:

Just go to ticketmaster.com Enter "Bette Midler" in the search box for "artist".

RE: Bette Midler:

OMG! Don't use that site!! I just checked ticketmaster.com. Seats at every price level are still available at Staples in Feb. Good Floor seats at $259 and the "cheap" seats in the $40' and 80's. That site you visited is a "scalping" site and good ONLY when a show is a "sell-out"

If you really want to go to the show...get tickets through ticketmaster.com Put "Bette Midler" in the search box. When the results come up...click the one that just says "Bette Midler"...not all the ones with parking. club seating, etc. It will show you her whole iteneray by dates in chronological order. Staples still has plenty of seats!

Let me know if you get tickets

Yeah, I should've checked Ticketmaster first.

Actually, I landed at that site after a web search. Bette Midler doesn't have a freakin' website? Lots of stuff *about* her on other sites, but she doesn't have one of her own?!!?!?!? WTF????

Tickets acquired for a much more reasonable price. (Cher was still cheaper. ;-))

Bathhouse Betty, The Divine Miss M, whatever you want to call her, she puts on a good show. I'm looking forward to it.

When I was coming out, a friend put on a Bette Midler album, I guess to see if I knew who she was. I didn't, but he still made a pass at me. And that's how it all began...

And yet you succeeded splendidly. ;(

, but a quick check of

>Miss Midler's discography reveals that it was actually

>[big]31[/big] years ago. :o

I actually remember it well. I was playing the latest hits (purchased on 45rpm records) and my dad wandered into the room because he finally heard me playing some music he could relate to.

That's Bette. She has reach.

Bette Midler in Philadelphia

Bette braved the cold to warm the hearts of the 20,000 people who attended her concert tonight in Philly.

I should say that I am more a casual fan than a diehard. Bette is a brillant comedienne, but four years ago I wanted more singing. Well, tonight I got it, complete with a strong brass section. Highlights were "The Rose." "I Think It's Going to Rain Today," and "The Wind beneath My Wings." Midler sang Rosemary Clooney's "Hey There" for the first time in public; it was beautiful. I was wishing for "Mambo Italiano," but no such luck.

My point: you can really enjoy this show without being a hugh Midler fan. She's singing better than ever, the production values are tops and Bette works her ass off to be outrageous.

Hope Bette never retires and invites us all to her nursing home when she turns 100 in 42 years for an another 3 hour show.

I'm going out in the cold to see the devine Ms M tomorrow at MSG. Can't wait and even the weather won't keep me away. Bette did a great interview on the Today show this morning. She said she has no plans on retiring. Now that's refreshing with others doing their final tour/retirement taking years to complete.
