There was a very accomplished sociologist I met from portland state that talks about racism and what she said applies to people like this, "some people just need to die". What she means is that progress generational and some folks have to go for things to change.

Every time I am asked to sign a ballot measure petition I ask "Oh, is this the one to end the ballot initiative process?" The guy who sits outside of Target now knows me and has stopped asking.
