Gay brothels in nevada???

There are plenty of brothels in nevada for str8 guys to go see their favorite ladies. remember that prostitution is legal in certain counties in nevada with the exception of cities w/ a population of greater than 400,000 people (i think that's right).

 

You got the bunny ranch and whatever other ones are out there. these places all cater to the straight man providing lots of ladies for them to choose from.

 

My question is why isn't there any gay brothels in nevada that cater to the gay man??? I would think it would be legal. I'm sure if someone opened that kind of establishment it would get alot of business. It certainly would have to have a backdoor entrance so guys can be discreet if they so choose.

what are some of the disadvantages/advantages of doing this? Has anyone tried? you would have to get a "pimp" license, follow the medical guidelines and then you're in business.

 

any thoughts?

My impression is that Nevada is (was) one of the remaining states in which Homosexual acts were a felony. Of course, now that the Supreme Court has ruled in our favor in Brower vs. Texas, Nevada couldn't claim that, but that might not stop some attempts at roadblocks.

 

Futher, I have the impression that whether brothels are legal is on a county-by-county basis in Nevada.

 

I am neither a lawyer, constitutional scholar, nor venture (vulture?) capitalist.......

There has been a lot of speculation about Gay Brothels in Vegas. Just on the news the other night the Mayor was toying with the idea of making escorting legal. I really think it has to do w/ the way the "Uppers" who are in Vegas want to run this place... There is a split.. Half want Vegas to be like a Family Theme Park and half want it to be "Sin City". Over the past year and half there have been several escorts from Vegas arrested because of our business, me included. Now that I have a few insides to the political side I hear what is going on and to be honest w/ ya they are anti-gay here.. Not sure who is exactly but I think it is why we only have a few Gay Bars and only one Gay Resort here.

 

It just saddens me because I travel all the time to Los Angeles and San Diego and see the thriving gay communities and wonder if I am ever going to get to enjoy that freedom or should I just pack up and head out.

 

If scortin is ever made legal for males... then I am sure we will have brothels but like the Bunney Ranch it will prob stay on the outscurts of town.

I have relations in Nevada, and have seen (from afar, mind you) where some of the state's legal brothels are. In the middle of nowhere! Gay brothels would never work because

a) escorts would never put up with the social isolation of being confined to "ranches", and

b) clients wouldn't bother to go that far out of their way to see them.

Unless gay brothels could be established in the penthouse of a main-strip-casino in Las Vegas, they're not likely to succeed.

I lived in Las Vegas for several years and was disappointed how anti-gay the city seems to be. While I'm not one to flaunt my sexual preference I almost always felt that I had to be on my guard. Personally, I don't see much improvement in the near future. It will always been a fun place to visit but I seriously doubt I can ever make it my home again.

Hi,

 

It's my understanding that Nevada's brothels have to be located in counties that have very small populations. (Which is why they're not located near Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Reno and Carson City.) I've also read that use of condoms is MANDATORY even for oral sex and that anal sex is prohibited. The latter prohibition probably explains why there doesn't seem to be any gay brothels. :( (Although I'm also not aware of str8 men being available for woman clients.)

 

It really is a shame. Maybe some day and maybe even in my lifetime. (I know for a fact that there are legal gay brothels in Australia.)

Well, the answer to that question is yes. I have thought about moving back to Austin, Tx where I am from. Now I have been out in Vegas for about 2 1/2 yrs and I am definitely exploring my options.

This is a point of conflict in many of the Las Vegas Based escorts I have known over the years(mostly on a social level)The money they can make in Las Vegas is great-but the quality of life-including the gay scene-just plain sucks.

Since there are so few good escorts in Vegas a bright,goodlooking fun kid such as Adam can make a lot of money,and have a great time on other peoples dime.

Quite a few escorts in Vegas are old washed up porn"stars"who have become victims of their addictions.

Others(and most of the agencies)are total cons and rip off artists.

So word spreads amongst guys who hire"Hey there is this great kid in Las Vegas named Adam(or,Caleb,or Joe amongst a few others)and they get to stay busy.

But good luck finding a boyfriend who is not a fuck-up.Good luck finding a bit of culture.Good luck trying to establish a circle of friends whose main idea of fun does not involve Saturday night at the Gypsy.

So Adam,you will have a big choice to make.Money or Quality of life.

PS there have been attempts in the past to establish a brothel for guys.Two of the recent past were called The Red Rooster,and The Green Door(which was located in the same shopping square as the spotlight and Cobalt-Red Rooster was out in Paruhmp)Both failed misereably.

At one point the San Remo was going to be purchased by a rich queen in Arizona to be a gay hotel-casino.The Liquor and gaming boards got wind of the plans and told the investor in no uncertain terms that it would be a no go as far as licensing was concerned.

Not only legal but licensed in Australia. In my city, for example, there is a lucky guy with the post of Registrar of Brothels. And in a triumph for bureaucracy, all prostitutes require an individual licence, like a driving licence.

 

A few years back the Chief Minister (roughly equivalent to the Governor of a US state) and the Opposition Leader joined in an open day of the brothels in my city. She was photographed on a bed in a brothel with the Opposition Leader, big smiles on their faces. It was prominently displayed in the public waiting area of her office.

Prostitution is not legal in the counties where LV and Reno are located. I don't think most gay clients want to drive out to the country for a gay brothel when there are good alternatives in town. I'm not sure why straight guys hire prostitutes from rural ranches or from the streets either. Is it because there's no heterosexual equivalent of this website, or because female prostitutes are too dumb to set up their own websites?
