I had messaged an escort who has listed on his incall and outcall "ask me". When I did, he responded that he did not do incalls anymore, and he only did outcalls to hotel rooms. He then offered to split the cost of a hotel room with me. This made me blink a few times.. pause a few moments.. and then I politely declined. I really did not feel the need to get a hotel room in a city I already live in, and it did not seem fair to split the cost of a room with an escort that I was interested in. Is this an unusual situation? Have you ever offered to split the cost of a room with a client?

I believe there have been a few sting operations in Vegas and perhaps this escort does not relish the idea of giving away the goods in a local prison. When I first hired, I was hesitant to have an escort to my home, so I rented a hotel room around the corner from my home for a very discounted rate. The escort seems to be very careful. You might want to find a cheap motel and go that route and let him pay half if he wishes. I am sure Vegas has hot sheet places with jungle themes and hourly rates.

There was nothing wrong with him proposing, nor with your declining.

Well, first, kudos to Kevin for this assessment. It strikes me as the most direct, truest answer to DOZENS of the questions that get raised around here.

I'll just add a little recent semi-similar personal experience for whatever amusement anyone might get out of it. A new escort has showed up in my (thinly populated by escorts) neck of the woods. He is advertising on at least three sites AND has his own website, so he's kind of gone all-out in terms of newbie prominence. And while there are some things in his advertising that gave me pause, his handy-dandy location (just one town away in -- did I mention? -- escort wasteland) got me over any hesitation. We exchanged friendly emails. I proposed a date to meet. And then we hit the snag. I can't host and, despite his having an IN rate listed in all his ads, NEITHER CAN HE. "We could get a room," he said. And I probably should have said, "Do you mean, YOU can get a room and absorb the cost of that while I pay your advertised IN rate?," but instead I assumed that I would be expected to pay for the room ... and the use of a credit card for a local hotel room is a potentially dangerous indiscretion for me. That's what I told him. After which he mentioned a Motel 6 (a few towns away from us) where a room could be had for cash -- "unless that's beneath you," he added. I'm not sure which thing he thought might be beneath me -- paying cash for a room or meeting at a Motel 6. I said I hoped it wouldn't offend him, but I was going to pass. I wanted to deny being a motel snob, but, y'know, truth be told, there was something about a quickie at the Motel 6 that wasn't EXACTLY what I had in mind.

Some things just aren't meant to be.

You know you can have a lot of fun when you do something which was not EXACTLY what you had in mind. In fact, that kind of fun can be liberating and memorable.

I absolutely agree, PK ... with the caveat that, personally, I'd prefer to have that adventure with someone I'm more sure I can trust. If that instinctive caution leads me to miss some big thrills, I can live with that.

Motel 6? Lots of truckers and rednecks. Some hookers in the parking lot, maybe.

You'd either be on a one-of-the-kind adventure, or your gentleman could have a line at his door.
