Well to each his own and you do things how you want to, but I think it's entitled of you to think an escort that doesn't respond to your initial inquiry to be such a major inconvenience to you. It just means he's not taking clients at that time/busy/etc and it's just a signal to move on to your next choice.

But you're forgetting that many hire not just to fulfill their sexual needs but to feel a sense of power over someone else

Good point, but the escort doesn't owe the client anything until the appointment is made, and when both parties follow through with their meeting. Everything is just talk before then.
