A question I've wondered about: If a legit, skilled masseur advertises a rather large standard rate for an hour -- say $150, which is steep -- does that generally imply that a.) minor sex, such as oral and heavy foreplay, will be assumed to be included with the therapeutic massage; and/or b.) he is open to full-service escorting (for an additional fee)?

That was my assumption going into a recent massage hire, and both 1 and 2 were indeed the case. (We did 1, and afterward I asked about 2 and the answer was yes.) But that's just one guy, so maybe it was a fluke (and a fun one). Anybody else have experience with this?

There is no standard. Some guys will want to have sex with you and they only charge $100. Some guys charge $200 and won't let you touch them and they hardly touch you. Every new masseur you meet is an adventure in itself (unless you want to specify services before the massage begins).

Interesting. So it's sort of random, depending on the masseur, in your experience. I would definitely inquire in advance if the rate was $200. And if you've got a list of $100 sex partner masseuers, feel free to PM me! ;)

I agree with tsgarp, but also have found out that if you patronize a masseur and have a good time, then things gradually progress. It also can make a difference if you are one of his first clients or his last one. I had one guy that I saw on a pretty regular basis, and he said to me, "We'd have a much better time if you were my last client of the day, instead of the first!" I took him up on the suggestion, and we both enjoyed the massage experience even more when I followed his advise. Masseurs have performance limits too..... IMHO

I think that it isn't safe to make assumptions about such things. I learned that lesson the hard way (not in a good hard way!) by hiring a couple of guys whose ads were quite suggestive and whose rates were on the high side, only to realize at the end of my appointments with them that that was just part of their marketing to get horny men to hire them. My rule now is to not even hire a masseur whose rates are significantly higher than the typical erotic massage rates in my area.

It's absolutely true that you should never assume anything about masseurs. I agree with what tsgarp has said, and can sympathize with the most recent post by maninsoma. However, I can't agree with maninsoma's last sentence. I have found that, while some high fees are not at all justified, many high fees ARE justified. An example is RJ in Kissimee, Florida, just outside of Orlando. I pay RJ $350 for 90 minutes, and I've been a happy client for more than five years. Simply put, his massage is like no other I've encountered. Others may think I'm a fool to pay this much for 90 minutes, but I wish he'd come to New York more often than he does, so I can enjoy his massages. But, yes, you should ALWAYS ask a masseur what he will do and what he won't, and make your preferences clear. You know the old saying: to assume makes an ass of u and me.

I am thinking that no matter how good a masseur is at massage, there is no way I would be happy paying $350 for a 90 minute massage without 'full' sex being included.

But on the other hand, I'm glad you've found someone you like.

I have found that much of it has to do with their level of attraction to you.

This has been my experience. Several years ago when I still had a shred or two of youth and beauty, my massages tended to be a lot more interactive and happy events. Now that youth has totally abandoned the temple laughingly called my body, I find that I might as well stay at home, fantasize with my computer and save my moola. Somehow if all that happens is going to be a little mutual masturbation, I'd rather do that alone and increase my retirement savings.

Excellent points, Diverdan. Becoming a regular and developing a sense of familiarity has been a common factor in my sensual massages evolving into a more consistent sexual experience at the conclusion of the massage.

This, this, and this. Massage therapists, at the heart of it, are there to give you a massage. This of course excludes the rub and tuggers from backpage and the like. I've built some lovely relationships with very talented therapists who are willing to "put more on the table" once we've had a few appointments together. Expecting a certified massage therapist to offer sex on the first appointment is unreasonable. They have livelihoods to protect. Once you get to know them, a great number of these masseurs are willing to go the extra mile once it's been discussed.

These are all good points for discussion. I agree that for a fully interactive experience one should go to an escort. But I used to have pretty amazing interactive experiences with masseurs that rivaled anything that happened with the so-called fully interactive escort. For the last few years though I've noticed a decided fall-off in the chemistry factor with my masseurs.

Then too, it is good to know what the going rate is for a massage in one's market. A price that is markedly higher would seem to suggest that more may be on the table already without going into negotiations or haggling.

Maybe I was lucky but my luck seems to have largely dried up - much like I have.

There's often a disconnect between what's advertised and what's done. And most masseurs don't say much about sensual or erotic elements so you pretty much just have to take the plunge. I've been looking for a pattern but given up.

The very first massage I had in LA advertised therapeutic only for 120, he had me undress fully partway through by telling me he's get fully nude if I was. I ended the massage with his DNA all over my chest.

The first sensual guy I saw had no sensual element except to be nude and offer me full release. Great therapeutic massage though.

And the next sensual guy I had wouldn't leave my backside alone except to get a condom.

Mileage really does vary and unfortunately discussion is not an option for most of these men. You can use the codes of happy ending and mutual touch, but those are the only ones I ask about.
