The Jason Crystal scam.

You'll notice the similarity in ad text from one of his earlier incarnations, when he was still using his own pictures:

Too bad I couldn't find the archived version of the Unzipped blog that is linked on his review page.

BTW, the post should be pinned to the top of the page to safe time in the future (because the question will be asked again in a few days.)

Maybe it's me- but I don't really see any similarity in the ad copy between Jason Crystal's ad and this one. Also if it's a dead giveaway, why would Crystal keep putting Pacific Islander on the ethnicity question?

Really, you don't see any similarity? They always follow the same format:

Hey guys....blah, blah, blah...my name is (insert current alias). I just moved to/arrived in (insert current location here)...blah, blah, blah, I'm originally from (insert fake hometown here...just so happens it's Boston, MA in these versions). blah, blah, blah....insert crazy back story here about I'm going to school, being in the military, used to be a porn star....blah, blah, blah. I also am a certified in massage therapy/ also am certified massage therapy...blah, blah, blah specialize in/known for blah blah blah deep tissue/giving passionate erotic massage.....blah, blah, blah.

Yeah, I don't see any similarity at all.

You'd have to ask Jason/Landon/Johnny/Jake/Bradley/and on and on, why he almost always checks that he's "Caucasian/Latino/Pacific Islander, even when the body of the ad a few weeks ago was claiming that he was Irish and/or Italian. Some people have tells....he's are just easier to spot than others. But now at least, if he's reading this, he has road map on how to remove his tells.

Original Jason Crystal/Landon Keyes Ad:

Hey guys my name is Landon Keyes. I just moved to Fort Lauderdale, originally from Beverly Hills, Ca. I used to be a pornstar, so you can check me out at multiple porn websites listed . I promise you will love what you see lol!!! Check me out and maybe I can make one of those scenes I've done a fantasy if we are comfortable with each other lol. I also specialize in massage therapy. And what I'm known for is my deep tissue massage. I'm also a licensed masseur. ....

Current:

Hey guys my name is Jonathan my friends call me Johnny. My pics are very recent and 100 perfect accurate.. Feel free to ask for more pics. I am visiting from Boston Massachusetts. I am attending a local university here in the fall and would love to make new friends. Please make me feel welcome in this beautiful amazing city.. I am very easy going and easy to talk to. Feel free to ask any questions you may have to make you comfortable. ....

Why yes I see what you mean. They read like carbon copies of each other.

'Hey guys, my name is' is such an unusual salutation after all.

On second thought- no they really don't.

I'm not saying that any of you are wrong. But while I've seen ads or reviews that make me think something funny is going on. These two don't really 'ping' out to me. On the hand these may not be good examples since he isn't trying to fall back on his porn star name anymore.

I must admit these scams with fake pics always amaze me. How do these guys ever make money ....

It's the old "bait and switch". Obviously he's making money from it; otherwise, he couldn't afford to travel around the country constantly. Based on reports here in the forums, it seems most (or enough) clients follow through with the appointment even after they realize someone else showed up to the appointment. Unlike suferguy, who apparently canceled the appointment, once he realized the person who showed was not the person in the advertisement.

As the linked review indicates, Jason used to use his own pictures until his bad reputation for not providing the agreed upon services must have started affecting the bottom line. This is when he switched to stealing pictures. Now he appears to use a set of stolen pictures until they are found out and then moves on to a new set of pictures, alias and phone number.

Interesting. As I noted in another thread, there's a poster on Muscle Service who met the guy and he states positively that the pics are real. However, having seen Scorpio's pic of Jason Crystal, and reading surferguy's experience above, it seems that the Muscle Service poster likely met Jason Crystal and thought it was the same guy in the ad. Apparently he has the same killer bod and there seems to be some resemblance. The actions of the escort that the Muscle Service poster met certainly match what has been said here of Jason Crystal.

The point is, this is another reason why some get away with using fake ads, because sometimes they can fool people even upon meeting them.
