Yes, thanks for posting. My thoughts switched from happiness the dogs will now have a life all dogs should enjoy to extreme anger that they were forced to live such a horrible life. Our current dog, first from a shelter, is a real joy. If anyone mistreated her, that would be their last act. On a positive note, we had a lot of trouble adopting a dog because where we live they move out of the shelters very quickly. Most shelters in the state are no kill and some legislation is pending that would mandate no kill except for humane reasons.

 

Recently changed our wills, and while we aren't on the Forbes list of billionaires, what we leave behind will go to three different animal causes. Animal Defense League, the shelter our current dog came from and Puppy Rescue Mission. My kids are doing very well, don't need the money (have given them a fair amount already) and whatever we leave behind will hopefully help animals which have done much to enrich our lives.
