I think this would work for a couple of meetings, but let's not forget that unlike LA there aren't a whole lot of good escorts in DC, except for Aaron Scott, so I don't know how productive it would be beyond a couple of get togethers. It's not like DC has anything equivalent to Santa Monica Blvd.

Y'all could pick any restaurant near 8th & I, NE, which USED to be "the walk", and call it a nod to history. There used to be a decent micro-brewery down there, but not sure what's there today.

 

Is Mr. P's still in business? That would be a natural choice.

 

Or meet at Bob & Edith's in Arlington, if it's still going. It's not about haute cuisine. It's about cameraderie and shared interests. I've been to the LA gathering and an impromptu gathering in Chicago. It's always fun.

And yes, I meant 8th & I NW. When I was stationed at Marine Barracks we had many a new recruit get out of the taxi at the wrong 8th & I and end up standing on the street with the street walkers when they meant to be reporting for duty at Marine Barracks. Overlooked this question the other night. Yes, Mr. P's is still in business, but barely! It was sold earlier this year, and is in the process of being remodled, so 1/2 of it is boarded up and shut down. The remodeling was supposed to be completed months ago, but so far, I haven't seen any progress. An already dead crowd is now even closer to the grave, so I would not recommend it to anyone. IMO, this is a shame, because if it had an owner willing to invest the money to totally fix it up to it's heyday, it could be a great gay bar, as it is the only one in Dupont Circle that not only has a patio but a 2 level patio.

This is DC man! Everything requires miles of red tape and a committee to study the recommendations of a priorly commissioned committee to study the pros and cons of the situation as solicited by multiple proponents/opponents. In other words, don't expect a resolution until mid 2005. :+
