Yes i do know this has been disussed before but hey.........were bored.

i have been reading a number of postings on this board lately that dicuss Gay guys doing it with hetro guys, and hetro guys doing it with Gay guys..hell there is a posting in the hustler room by a guy wanting a "straight" guy to "use" him........blecchhhhhh.

there are two extreme ends to the sexual spectrum Gay<<<<<<<>>>>>>>hetro most people fall into one or the other (at least those that participate in sex with living humans)the third group would be bi-sexuals; Gay guys do it with Gay guys.........hetros do it with women, if guys that identify themselves as Gay have sex with a women or guys that i.d. themselves as hetro have sex with a guy as a matter of course........they are bi-sexual,no excuses, rationalizations, explanations,or psycho babble can change that....

having sex outside of your orientation a couple times can be considered as "just a thing".doing it on a regular basis.....for whatever reason.....takes you out of the strict confines of Gay/hetro and moves you into bi-sexual.

a guy that has sex with another guy on more than a few occasions that calls himself straight is either full of shit or doesn't have the balls to embrace his sexuality.

a guy having sex with guys and calling himself straight, is like a guy wearing a leather jacket and calling himself a vegan,no matter how much he might want to believe that to be the truth>>>>>>it...just...ain't...so.

I mostly agree with you, but I also add the twist that it is important to consider specific sex acts. A "straight" guy who prefers fucking women up the butt and getting blown to fucking pussy and eating it too, doesn't seem to straight to me either. By the same token a "gay" guy who does not get fucked up the butt, or suck another guy off, does not seem very gay to me.

Well, taylorky, I have to respectfully disagree with this observation. I have NEVER MET a man who didn't like to get his cock sucked. Just because a man likes to get a blow job from another man does not make him bi or gay, no matter how often he engages in such activities. :)

Thank GOD!!! you are not the supreme designator of who is gay! What the heck makes you believe that all gay men like it up the butt or like to suck? STUPID, STUPID, STUPID AND YET AGAIN STUPID!!

I'm really getting tired of all the str8, bi, "lately gay after a lifetime of being hetreosexual" people who post here with their condescending attitudes and pre-conceived notions and expectations of what it is to be a "born gay man". YOU ALL MAKE ME SICK!! and I for one hope to never run across yet "another of you" in what is left on my life on planet Earth. You "types" look at a gay man as a piece of meat to perform as you "demand and wish" especially when it comes to escorts.

If only there were a site where all the escorts were gay and all the clients were gay, what a wonderful world it would be. :)

Hawk--our differences in other posts aside for a moment--isn't part of the pleasure of a bj dependent on who is doing the blowing? I have NO interest in having a woman suck my dick and somewhat selective in what men suck it to boot.

I do not consider myself BI at all, yet for years I had sex only with woman--BUT there never was a time while having sex with a woman that I wasn't thinking of some hot guy and fantasizing sex with him--if I didn't I couldn't get off. And I can safely say that the best sex I ever had with a woman was not as good as the worse sex I've had with a man :(

So when you say you "have never met a man who didn't like to get his cock sucked", which is probably true, the kicker is "like to get his cock sucked" by who?

It doesn't mean that a gay man necessarily would enjoy getting sucked off by a woman. Am I the only one that would find that a real turn off?

I've always theorized that the sexual orientation of a person isn't so much determined by who he has sex with, but more indicated by who he thinks about when he has sex:+

Putting the so-called African-American men to one side, I think you will find that most African men don't like having their dick sucked by man, woman or dog.

I don't think that works because a lot of twinks have feminine looks. Young boys and young girls are virtually indistinguashable. (That's why psychologists say that women have their first crush on safe guys who look like Tom Cruise as opposed to the more masculine fast-developing guys in their high schools.) So how does your theory account for the guy who fantasizes about a twink when having sex with either a man or a woman?

Curious about your comment that African men do not like to have their cocks sucked. Could you be more specific? African men from which countries and living where? I ask because I have lived in three different African countries and even within the countries, "pleasures" varied. Not being critical, just curious.

RE: gay,bisexual,asexual,straight,dogs,corpses,and asso...

After years of reading and thinking about these issues, to say nothing of endless hours of conversation with other men, I've come to believe that "gay" and "straight" as designators of polar opposites are emotionally and socially handy, even practical, but not helpful for understanding the complexities of human sexual response. To put it another way, it's my sense that human beings would freely and openly respond to each other in any number of combinations if there were no greater value placed on one than the other. As the most sexually active creatures that we know of, human beings gleefully get themselves up to any imaginable form of erotic play.

The term "homosexuality," after all, was invented only towards the end of the nineteenth century and largely as a kind of negative definition of heterosexuality. Its awkwardness shows through even in the cobbled etymology of the word: "sex" is Latin; but "homo" is Greek for "same," not Latin for "man". Like a pudding mold, "homosexual" gave the shape to heterosexuality. Ever since the term caught on, replacing other nineteenth-century candidates like "urning," the effort to "define" what is and is not heterosexual has increased, along with it the default category of "bisexual."

I'm persuaded that sexual orientation is largely the result of a nuanced interaction of three, inherently unstable, things. The first is sexual fantasy, including dreams, which can't be censored and which therefore can tell one what one "really" wants. The second is overt behavior and the conscious desires that lead to it. And the third is affective choice. It's odd but true that much, maybe even most, homophobia tends to gather around this last criterion. It's OK, for example, for guys to jerk each other off on occasion -- say, on a desert island -- but it is NOT OK for guys to kiss, let alone actually fall in love.

The longest, strongest, and most intimate sexual relationship I ever had was with a bisexual man. (And, yes, I'm absolutely certain that he is genuinely bisexual.) It was hell. In the end I decided that none of the apparent advantages of bisexuality outweighed the emotional price that goes along with it -- the price to all concerned.

At all events, bisexual behavior and affective choice are simply inefficient, regardless of the fantasies that fuel them. After all, most of us have trouble with being attracted to only 50% of the population. Doubling that would be, for me anyhow, just too much!

I think it is a norm that I have observed throughout what some call Sub-Saharan or Black Africa. I think this holds less true in America, but is prevalent in the West Indies but on a much less scale thanon the continent. Ditto for Brazil. I think where Africans engage in metisage, the continental tradition does break down as evidenced by Kobe Bryant!

I think you are right on the mark, and it helps to account for the sex role stereotyping that results in some men who like anal/oral sex limiting themselves to those acts with women, or some men who hate anal/oral sex limiting themselves to having sex only with other men. Sorry, Vahawk. I hope reading this does not cause you to go "Postal" (again?).

Taylor,I know you are too young to know about such things, but there was a time-not so long ago-that guys who wanted to get off would let another fella take care of his "needs"and no lables were used in this transaction.I guess you could call them "bi"but it really did not matter-the fella getting blown ,or however he was getting a nut,was happy, and the guy bent over/down on his knees was happy.

I had a lot more sex back then-and it was no better/worse than it is today=just more of it.

Calling a guy who wishes to service "trade" "bleacccchy"is very small on your part.I know it is not very rainbow flag p.c.-but what difference should it make to you?If you want full out romance/sex with only fellas who identify themselves as a kinsey six-fine more power to you.But to critcize some ones elses preferences when it comes to partners,or how men wish to identify themselves should be of no concern to you whatsoever.

Wow, this is a very interesting thread. One of the cool things about this site is the number of diverse men who enjoy all different types of sexual activities. It is, after all, about getting one's sexual needs met. No one should be critical of anyone's desires, especially here. Gay/Str8/Bi it's all good to me!

>there are two extreme ends to the sexual spectrum

>Gay<<<<<<<>>>>>>>hetro most people fall into one or the other

I think the whole premise of this posting and the responses reflect a North American/Western European need to define and categorize.

Most of the Hungarian, Czech, and Slovak actors in those hot videos prefer sex with women and only do male-male sex for a living. Yet, they obviously appear to be enjoying themselves.

The Rio sauna boys usually have girl friends and are often married with kids. Yet, they appear to enjoy their work, too. After all, it is really difficult to fake an erection.

The fact is, in their cultures, I belive, the attitude is if the sex feels good, do it. We have a need to define our sexuality and play within those definitions.

As an oppressed minority, it is ironic that we American gays often disparage bisexuals. It is nearly universal among us to curl our lips and wrinkle our noses at the mention of a vagina yet we gladly lick a man's anus.

Do we really need to pigeon hole people so much?

yep i have 2 agree with u big guy, it is nobodys business,(certainly not mine) who u or any 1 else has sex with...that wasn't the reason for the "bleccchhhh". the reason was my own personnel preference, i would never want somebody 2 "use me" 4 sex or anything else.

i do have a negative opinion of those who routinely participate n same gender sex but deny their orientation.

in my opinion 3 choices exist 4 those that have sex with living humans, the 2 extremes of Gay or straight plus the very real 3rd choice of bi-sexual,i don't consider that 2 b restrictive.

RE: gay,bisexual,asexual,straight,dogs,corpses,and asso...

Very well observed, Will. I too have come to the conclusion that if the absolute preferences of gay or straight could be analogized as black and white, than about 90% of humanity, in deed or desire or fantasy, fall into some shade of gray. To make it even more complicated, add some flecks of color to that gray to indicate kinks, fetishes and other psycho-sexual obsessions. If one were able to take a picture of a persons sexual body, I think it would most likely look like a Jackson Pollock canvas.

As you mentioned, society plays a strong role in how one might ultimately perceive one's orientation, by placing more value, and even moral superiority on the "het" end of the spectrum. But I sometimes wonder if we don't also purposely limit ourselves to a single basic preference (with room for a few deviations, hopefully!) Simply because all that fuzzy, unfocused desire emanating from the human libido is just too much for the mind and heart to make sense of. One needs boundaries and a sense of direction in life. although for many the boudaries and directions usually aren't too strict, and malleable depending one one's enviroment (ie; men in prison) But that is, ultimately, just another designer shade of gray.

Will,

I enjoyed your great post, I agree with most of what you have to say but I think you discount the cultural component to sexual preference. We're jammed into such cultural molds during our vulnerable development years and that adds a complex either-or force to the chaotic interaction with the other variables that you name. Also early pleasurable experiences certainly have a role as well.

In the natural state sans the influence of culture, I think there is much more of a tendency to veer towards bisexuality, (see "Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity ").

As to efficiency, as a Kinsey 5, I find some women (not the masculine ones:)) sexually attractive. It really bothers me that this threatens many gay men, I don't really understand this phenomenon other than "you're not playing by the rules" or "you're a traitor to the cause" sentiments, how silly. Personally, I rather envy the Kinsey 3s with their wide open field of choices... There's efficiency, the most variables available in a choice of partner. I'm interested in the argument by some bisexuals that there are qualities to be sought in a partner that transcend gender, especially in our current (green) cultural movement towards androgyny. I cheer the young guys going the "flexisexual" route. Back to nature, yes.

Totally in agreement with you. No doubt in my mind WHAT I am or what I enjoy. I only wish that some did not have a pre-determined "list" of what determines a person's sexuality or desirability.

To Axebahia---having had enjoyable oral sex with men from the Caribbean, Latin and South America, and in three different Sub-Saharan African countries, I'm not sure I agree with your conclusions---but the fact that I was a resident alien might have had an influence on my experience.

It would be interesting to hear from men from these areas about how they define themselves in terms of: hetero, homo, or bi. Maybe this "need" to label is an American (meaning USA) thing????

Amen. I wish I had read your posting BEFORE I responded to Taylor and Axebahia earlier. Your thoughts are very similar to mine and as a normal "selfish" human being, that's always comforting---to know there are others out there who agree me!!!
