Didn't one of the older escort sites or possibly a massage site used to have guys on it that they claimed were 'verified' to have accurate photos? It would be nice if Rentboy or M4RN could figure out a 'seal of picture approval'. Rentmen- at least for the guys with interviews doesn't need one. It might be a way for the sites to make more money- it would be a higher priced ad. And if the guys advertising that way were really hot, It might lead to increased clients for them.

That's is what needs to be done...If the escort is using old..or someone elses pics that would weed out the fakes... Last June I had someone show up and it was indeed the right man...but the pics must have been 10 years old....I should have (and now do) asked for recent pics....I asked him to leave and he was pissed....tough for him...he has lost his hair...lost weight...lost a client....misreprentation to the max....

Joseph of Georgia started a thread about Massagem4m doing the verification process. The ad had to have a face photo in it and they would verify your looks through a video conference type of thing and then label the ad "verified".

a year or two ago, somebody suggested that one deliberate reason for an advertiser to use inaccurate pictures was simply to protect their own privacy and identity, NOT necessarily to deceive or appear to be better-looking...of course, not all fake picture users think that way....in a perfect world, the advertiser would make the disclaimer that these are not pictures of himself, but are similar, and to please request accurate ones by direct contact....

so, I CAN see fake pics being used in some cases where the advertisers want to protect themselves...but, of course, this should be disclosed

Sounds like a rationalization to me. Let me see, I need to protect myself (from what, exactly, if you're talking about a masseur versus an escort ad?) so I'm going to use someone else's photos in my ad, thereby putting some person who doesn't even know his photos are being used in that way in the position the advertiser doesn't want to be in?

I get it if someone doesn't want to have face photos in a public profile, but there's no reason not to have accurate body shots in an escort ad. It's also possible to have face shots that are obscured enough so that some privacy is maintained while giving potential clients an idea of the advertiser's real looks.

I would never hire anyone who uses photos of someone else and admits that they are "representative" of himself since, in my experience, men are more likely to select photos that are more flattering than the reality is.
