Interesting show with a wide variety of performances. Lucky and Royals seemed to take most of the awards. Paul McCarney and Ringo Starr performed together on a new song by Paul but the night did not have a single Beatle song performed.

Madonna's face looked particularly tight and yet haggard at the same time and it must have scared a few alley cats because there was no other reasonable explanation for the screeching that accompanied her presence on stage.

The marriage of 33 couples of all mixes by Queen Latifah was strangely touching. Strange in that it was so obviously designed to be a memorable moment that it was strange that they managed to pull it off, kinda sorta.

I wish I had a piece of the wheelchair concession for the group of performers the rolled out, but most of the staging was excellent or at least distracting enough that one hardly noticed the dropped lines and the bad lip synching.

Pink did her ribbon act and it was excellent as usual and it was highlighted by a partiuclarly buff dancer in leotard and shirtless cavorting with her. He was smoking, she was entertaining.

All an all, I was multitasking so I cannot totally regret the time I spent watching the show.

I love the video for "Try" and am still grateful to SD for posting it all those months ago. These pics aren't too shabby either.

The funnest part of the show was trying to explain Daft Punk to your elders.

An attempt to explain Daft Punk ...

On a more serious note:

Thomas Bangalter [one of the founders] says, "You don't always have to compromise yourself to be successful."

Therefore they choose not to be seen. With that said, After the release of Homework, both of them realized that if the music they created was famous, the attention would be directed towards them. Wanting the attention to be towards the music, they started showing up to photoshoots in robotic helmets. Their story is 9:09 am, September 9, 1999, the sampler they were working on exploded. When they woke up, they had become robots. They claim that their music is a combination of their new robotic beings and their original parts. This is obviously an excuse not to show their faces. Beyonce was so hot!!!!! that asssssssssss wow!!!!

I agree, Amir! Looking at that ass, it almost turned me straight. ALMOST. But not quite. That Ass is definitely a work of Art. And her legs too. She must work out like a bandit to look like that. It's admirable for a woman in her 30s ...
