If you're asking why more escorts don't travel there to work, I have a theory. My perception, rightly or wrongly, is that most of the hiring in Vegas is done by people traveling to LV rather than by the locals. When I travel to a city like New York, or Boston where I am now, I do get a few clients who happen to be traveling there themselves, but they are very much in the minority. It just seems like too much of a crapshoot (sorry) to hope that a bunch of clients whose type I happen to be would happen to be in Vegas at the same time I would.

 

Also, my understanding from talking to escorts and former escorts I know there is that much of the business is from clients wanting the escort to come to their hotel. That wouldn't be much of a concern if not for the fact that last year we heard a lot of talk of stings based out of the "client's" hotel room. Whether or not that talk was inflated, or whether or not the stings have died down, if I were in Vegas I'd be nervous about doing outcalls to a client's hotel room, unless he'd called from a cellphone with an out-of-state phone number.

But add to it the fact that Vegas is 100% dedicated to providing an illusion with NO intent to deliver. It's all flash with no sizzle. By design.

 

Why shouldn't that carry over into the world of escorts?

 

For many years, Vegas was well-known as one of the worst cities in the US for hiring escorts. They were all either ripoffs or, worse, would charge extra for every act.

 

Guys like Stef, Mario Roma, Adam, etc., turned that around for a while. We had "one brief shining moment" when Vegas was actually fun for a while. It appears to have reverted back to its original status.

 

Vegas is all about gaudy and over the top. It SHOULD be a major gay area. Can you imagine putting on all those shows without chorus boys?

 

Instead, it's completely focused on getting you and your money shovelled into the casinos where you'll happily lose as much as you can. Hotel rooms don't have cable TV because they don't WANT you staying in your room. They want you in the casino.

 

The entire society in Vegas is built around getting you into the casinos. Spending time with an escort takes you away from the casinos. Why would that be encouraged in any way?

I assume Haus Weston, when he is not doing all that travel he often does, is still in LV. I have to admit if it was not possible to travel to the city as inexpensively as it is for me, I would not even consider it. Vegas is akin to small towns, like Columbus and Baltimore, where men would like to hire escorts, but are neither used to nor familiar with what is involved with traveling escorts, particularly when the escorts are picking up the expense to travel to the city.

 

I have spoken with or corresponded with some very popular and well reviewed escorts from this site who saw no clients when I saw a great number on some of my trips there, but on the other hand, when I was there in February, were it not for repeat clients, I would also not have seen any clients on that trip.

 

I think Devon is very right: this is a city for tourist to hire and without the ability to advertise in a gay paper, the hiring is very hit and miss, even in a forum such as AOL.

I was in Vegas escorting for almost 8 months, and for awhile there things were going really really good. I think most of the escorts just got greedy and some things got out of hand (Thats reason I moved to SO CAL). I tried Richard out because of his reviews on here but was somewhat disappointed about the fact that he had lost one of his testicals due to a medical problem. I will hire him again but would have liked to have known this up front. I've been with Richard at least twice since his operation -- including a couple of days/nights in San Diego (and many times before in Vegas and Los Angeles) and continue to have a great time with him.
