Some affable advice for your travels into the UK~

If you're looking for some serious fun, but want to stick to agency/brothel boys, try Villa Gianni in the Earl's Court area. I'm pretty sure their website is still http://www.VillaGianni.com

A personal recommendation: London's Lucio is a top-notch fella with all the skills & nightlife knowlege to make your stay in the UK extremely VIP. I've had the pleasure of hanging out with him for awhile and can honestly say he's a great guy. http://www.LondonLucio.com

Saunas (aka, bathhouses) are prevelant. The only one i have visited is Chariots II. I'm told that Chariots is a huge chain in the London area and has some pretty amazing locations. The one i visited was ultra-clean, full of eye candy and really expansive.

If you need anymore info or contacts while over the pond (theatre recommendations, nightclubs, culture) feel free to email me. Hope this helps :)

Warmest Regards,

Who knows what happened with his website? Maybe he's gone holistic and is now selling other kinds of 'juice.' :) In any event, Lucio's a great guy and the link should provide an email addy...

There is definitely something wrong with his web site path because it is linked to a place in San Francisco of all places.

Lucio is a fun guy, but Steven Draker is also VERY HOTTT. Maybe if you are lucky, he'll come back to London for you.

There are 3 main publications for gays in London - you can download the first two from the internet...the third is available in High Street newspaper shops (usually on the top shelf next to the porn magazines!):

Boyz - http://www.boyz.co.uk

QX International - http://www.qxmag.co.uk

Gay Times - http://www.gaytimes.co.uk

They have listings for clubs, bars, escort services etc.

For general tourist information, visit http://www.visitlondon.com

If you need help with legal, financial, medical or emotional problems while in the UK, contact Gay Switchboard - a 24-hour free confidential helpline - 020 7837 7324. They also have an online database on the gay scene in London - http://www.queery.co.uk

Enjoy your stay - if there's anything specific you need info on please send me a message and I will try to help.

>Didn't you forget the London Gay Pride on Saturday, July 26th

>?

Ah, I wouldn't know about such cultural highlights...but I hear there's all manner of fun - ice cream, bouncy castles, and men who do tricks (so nothing new there then)...

One piece of info I did forget was a weather report (well, what else would a Brit talk about?). At the moment, it's warm and muggy here with occasional sunshine so bring something flimsy that you can easily rinse out in the hotel sink ...along with the bed sheets, of course. :+

Unfortuately, the web designer, a former escort himself and the person charged with developing Lucio's website, became angry like queens sometime do and decideded to "get the owners" attention by putting up some greenpeace of shit in place of Lucio's site.

I think this is a clear violation of all internet policies not to mention the most unprofessional thing I have seen in this sleezy business. I will try and help Lucio "sort it out" as he would say. Unfortunately, the damage is done and all the money and time spent on creating and publicizing the site have been wasted and Lucio has lost clients and to an lesser extent credibility.

Nice of Ben to give him a little boost. Bottom line, it is too bad if you cannot TRUST a web designer when he has access to all your passwords. He can reek havoc with your product.

Lucio's reviews are posted under Britain and I think his phone number is current. But who knows...it is the UK, after all.

So if you are selecting a web host or designer, you'd better beware that the individual can be trusted.

Look at the title of this thread for a minute.

Is there any OTHER London apart from London, England? (And that should be London, UK, or London, Great Britain, anyway).

If you were visiting other cities, you wouldn't say New York, America, or Los Angeles, USA, or Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, or Vancouver, Canada, or Tokyo, Japan, or Moscow, Russia.

But for some reason Americans (and only Americans - and not all of them, I hasten to add) think it's necessary to add "England" as if there were another very important city called London, Oklahoma, or London, California, with which we might confuse it.

The only other London of any size that I've ever heard of is London, Ontario, in Canada, which is about 5% of the size of London. I don't think I'd be confusing the two in a hurry.

There are:

London, Arkansas

London, Kentucky

London, Ohio

London, Texas

London, West Virgina

Sometimes when I travel from London, Arkansa on my way to London, Kentuky, I say "y'all, I'm heading for London, Kentucky so they do not become confused thinking I am going to London, Ohio. Sorry, mate, it confuses me, especially when I figure London bridge is in Arizona, America.

Finally, there is the late Judge Earl Blackwell, of London, Texas. It was always confusing to say, "I'm going to Earl's Court without people wondering if you were taking the tube or the horse.

You seriously believe that anybody would think he was travelling to London, Arkansas????????

You've made my point, hooboy, much more concisely than I did. There is only one London that anybody thinks of when you say "I'm going to London".

And it sure as hell ain't London, Texas!

London, England .... It's just an "Americanism" that we have to accept. They usually suffix a place name with the State ... Columbus, Ohio; Columbus, Texas; Columbus, Georgia; Columbus, Pennsylvania etc.

So they add a "state" to cities in other countries as well. Thus Paris, France; London, England etc.

And a quick "political geography" lesson! England together with Wales and Scotland forms Great Britian. Add Northern Ireland to Great Britain, throw in the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, and you get the United Kingdom.

And for all of you who visit London, remember there is a lot more to England/Great Britian/United Kingdom than London! See the sights and hit the gay bars/clubs/saunas of London for a few days, then get out and see a bit of the rest of the country where you will find just as much touristy stuff - not to mention sex!

>Escorting is legal in England yes?

>

>besides villagianni.com what are some other escort places in

>London?

Well... The law in England doesn't prohibit exchanging sex for money: if it did, that would be the end of most straight marriages - ha!

English law does prohibit soliciting, running a brothel, and living off someone else's immoral earnings. (I said "English law" very deliberately - Scottish law may be different; it often is.)

As for other ways of locating escorts in London, the agency/brothel scene is I think the smallest part of the market. There are very many independent escorts (or guys who work for the agencies/brothels and work independently).

Please scroll up to the other messages in this thread. In my first message I mention two magazines you can download from the net - Boyz and QX. They both have ads for independent escorts with pictures/phone numbers and they also list the main escort agencies. Also see the message from Steven Draker - he recommends http://www.london-lads.co.uk which lists escorts.

There's also http://www.gaydar.co.uk which has an escort listing section.

Access to both London Lads and Gaydar is free (though there is a charge to have a listing if you are an escort wishing to advertise).

If you want some recommendations on individuals, please send me a personal message via M4M. I'll be able to make recommendations if our tastes etc are the same.

Pavel,

It is my distinct pleasure to help you make your point which has been troubling all us collectively since you so aptly brought it up.

Just when that is cleared up though another has risen and maybe you can sort this out for us. My big fret is the correct pronunciation of Palestine,America, the quaint East Texas town in the piney woods where much of America's Challenger was scattered.

Oh, Pavel, please tell me you can correctly pronounce that sleepy towns for the rest of us without looking it up or phoning hizzoner?

Now excuse me while I call AAA and get them to map out my weekly trek to the London Bridge Baptist Church in West Virginia. I hear the sermon this week is "Tony Blair: Prime Preacher of London England and expert on dossiers written by PhD students at Harvard Massachusettes."

There are a few good examples where it is often necessary to add the state or country of the city. Columbus is one, Springfield is another (there's that great scene in The Simpsons where they're all looking at the map to identify where Springfield is, and Bart stands in front of the map so we can't see where exactly it is). In the Hispanic world, I believe there are similar problems with Santiago and San Jose, and probably with Cordoba too. In these cases there are genuine possibilities of confusion because there are at least two and sometimes more cities of comparable stature with the same name, and adding the state or country is an important clarification.

But when somebody tells me they're going to Paris, I have never wondered if they mean Paris, Texas.

And why do I make this point, other than to show that I'm an extreme pedant? Because I think it's offensive to London, or Paris, to suggest that cities as universally known and significant as these need their country put after them to distinguish them from some delightful but insignificant little town somewhere out in the distant expanses of the USA. Or Australia for that matter.
