I only know of one: Man to Man Escorts. Are there anymore?

Escort agencies are mostly a thing of the past. With the advent of the internet, most escorts advertise independently and without the need of a go-between. I wouldn't mind dealing with an "agency" if there was one that dealt with very high-end guys that are not accessible to the general public....but I have not found one. Kind of like the Heidi Fleiss of male escorts. Does this exist?

Isn't that what David Forest purported to do? I have no personal experience of him and his work, but I have heard fairly equivocal things.

If there were the kind of agency you propose, I imagine it wouldn't advertise to the general public. But what a great thought!

I thought he had been mostly discredited. I am willing to be proven wrong as I would love to find an agency that dealt with respectable hard-to-get guys.

I believe Dave added a thread to the Deli Forum recently, promoting his agency, Man to Man. I wrote to him via private message -- was curious and had a few questions -- but he never got back to me.

Chelsea Guys in NY is supposedly still in business and there is also Planet Jockboys (that has mixed reviews).

In some ways it's a shame that the agencies are almost defunct - Maximum in NY was great for most of their run and when Premier was in it's prime the guys were spectacular. I used to travel to Philly to do incalls at the Premier townhouse because the guys were way hotter and the rates more reasonable than DC - the train fare plus the escort fees were less than just hiring the escort in DC. Especially since I used to prefer 3 ways and the going rate in DC was $175 to $200 per escort and the rates in Philly at the time were $120 per escort - with a $48 round trip train fare it was less expensive for hotter men. The escorts in Philly billed as versatile were actually versatile - they could top or bottom. In DC when an escort advertised as versatile it typically meant bottom.

The Adonis Agency has recently been advertising on Rentboy here in FL. Their site includes escorts in Tampa, Orlando, S. FL, as well as L.A., Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, & several other major cities. Does anyone have any experience with or knowledge of this agency?

I haven't really read about planetjockboys --- Their guys are really hot -- What was wrong with this agency?

The drop of escort agencies that is blamed on the ability to make direct contact through the internet theses days cuts off one or two of the very positive aspects of their service that I miss.

In Europe my first introduction to such agencies was through the "Houses of Boys" that were scattered here and there in major cities (Amsterdam, Cologne, Frankfurt, Geneva, London, Barcelona, Munich, Moscow, etc...) where one could contact the house and you were given the address and instructions on how to ring the bell. You were welcomed into a nice sitting room where you would be seated with sometimes up to a half dozen or more guys of various types (light, dark, muscular, twink, dark-haired, blond, skin-head, long hair...) offered a drink and in a clumsy but also cute way interact with the guys until you zeroed in on one or more that you liked (and yes, it was a lot like an auction with YOU as the star as these guys tried to entice you to pick them), then off to a room upstairs for an hour or two. I once had a guy who noticed I was eyeing him and another; he and I spent 90 minutes going at it then he excused himself for 10 minutes and came back with the other guy I was eyeing, and we went at it for another 90 minutes in a 3-way.

These were convenient, anonymous fun places to visit for a few hours of entertainment, and there were houses that specialized in all sorts of tastes and types. One had great rooms with nice showers; another even had S&M rooms, wrestling rooms and specialty massage rooms set up for the use of lots and lots of oil and sudsy water! Many of them also hosted a web site (eons ago when the web was just starting up) where they had a full roster of guys to entertain you and you could order them up from the menu on-line when about to visit a city, or on the spur of the moment from your hotel check who was available and call and talk to the owners and get the pluses and minuses of types you wanted.

On this side of the ocean, there were the agencies (most notably Maximum in NYC but also Chealsea Boys, Premium - there was even a service in DC - but the bar was set high by Maximum with its wide variety and constant turnover of really good-looking guys; Premier as mentioned above was also highly reliable and convenient until their cast of workers went downhill. Now I hardly give them a glance as either they are too malnourished looking or too tatted, or just too obviously gay-for-pay types... and not someone I would want to part money for.

Why the draw of an agency? Well it took a lot of guesswork out of hiring: the agency got to know the client, his likes and dislikes and what worked best for him, and an astute agency employee would be able to cater to those tastes without a lot of back and forth: they would know that the client likes muscular, somewhat hairy, dark haired, versatile, etc... - and they would suggest two or three who fit your taste or, as occasionally happened, they knew where to find someone that fit exactly what you wanted. There was also the added guarantee that there would be no surprises such as a no-show, or a guy coming to the door who was not the guy from the photo, and on the rare occasion when the escort was just not to your taste or liking, the better agencies would offer some form of compensation. It was a win-win for the client.

Now we deal directly with the escorts and it is, really, a risk -- depending on one's astuteness to seek out information on a guy before hiring, or having a good enough relationship with either other escorts or clients who can fill you in on one or another guy's attributes (or downsides). When going into a new area or visiting a city, without an agency to filter out your own expectations, you can waste a lot of time combing through the ads (especially when hiring on impulse rather than preparing days or weeks in advance).

I personally miss the European Houses of Boys (that sadly never really existed in the US except maybe in a few very private and very discreet clubs of an era now gone), and miss the fun of dealing with an agency when visiting an area. We are left with few choices today, and in all honestly the fees exacted from many agencies put their guys on a very high pay bracket -- you can get similar guys for a lot less doing home-shopping. But I also know that the economy today makes this a very expensive business venture (with borderline legal issues) first keeping a roster of guys to suit wide tastes, dealing with the payments, having people available to man the phones all hours and let's face it, their most difficult task is weeding out the nuts from the good clients to protect their workers.

A very nice history & analysis, Adriano, than brings back memories! I visited several of the Amsterdam houses in the 90's and early 2000's. On my first trips, I really liked them and the boys were friendly but not overly-aggressive. (I remember one guy helping me select someone else, once he realized he wasn't my type.) But on my last visit, some of the houses had closed and there was less diversity. The last guy I hired confided to me that he was only working there because he couldn't find another job.

Highly recommend "stay away from DF" Many boys he says are available for one reason or another are not available.

He's a crook - I learned my lesson

Just to be crystal clear here, Dave at Man to Man and David Forest(DF) are not the same guy or agency. The way some of the postings on page 1 read someone who hasn't been here much might get the impression that they are. Dave and Man to Man have a good reputation; David Forest, as noted above definitely NOT.

In the 80s and 90s, I dealt with an agency in Florida that took 90% of the guesswork out of hiring. On 2 occasions, escorts were no shows and I was compensated by being offered another escort at no charge. I accepted and of course tipped the escort but did not pay the full fee. As a result, I was a very loyal and lucrative customer for the agency for about 10 years. I miss those days.

I've had excellent experiences with knightcall in Sydney. I've never visited their premises, but I've phoned them from my hotel room and ordered up a guy. They're not cheap, but they are good at what they do.

Dave of Man to Man is a great guy and highly professional in his business practice. He is really customer oriented. David Forest on the other hand is a total joke and waste of time. The guy is sleaze like no other.

Nothing but positive experiences working with Dave from Man to Man. I hired 'Greg' a few times when he was travelling to NYC, and 'Zach' repeatedly, in NYC. Dave was not only totally professional, he was a pleasure to deal with. The appointments were always organized promptly and effortlessly. His guys delivered.

Thank you. I have not hired through this agency yet, but their portfolio is looking good and I wish them much success. My suggestion to them would be: split your business into 2 agencies: one for male, one for female clients. As a male client, I get 'annoyed' seeing a profile of a hot guy who is available to female clients only. I am also ambivalent about hiring a guy who is available to male and female clients. I don't know how female clients feel about hiring a guy who is also available to men. What you are selling is an illusion. Don't blur it. Just my 2 cents.
