i believe it is only a slur if he is indeed not Polish. If he is Polish, then it falls into the rather strange category of autoslur, using a slur against one's own ethnicity. Not sure why this is acceptable to most, but that it seems to be. Gay use of fag or gurl the never present in polite company ever present in Rap Music N word and many others. Of course, this is just this WOP's opinion.

I believe Tristan is Polish. He is also extremely close to his family and their traditions. His choice of words should have been better, but I'm sure he never meant it as a slur.

A) You make a comment under the escort travels section, when I posted the wrong dates...and I corrected myself with the happy go lucky saying; forgive me...IM JUST A DUMB POLOCK!

 

B) Since this is such a GRAVE OFFENSE..you actually felt the need to repost it under the Deli section, as if you're gonna jade people against me for using 'racial slurs?'

 

-Corollary to B: Have you seen my pictures? The blonde hair, blue eyes, big nose, and persistent smile? I'm as god damned Polish as they GET.

 

C) What did you hope to acheive here, by the way? Or do I need to just come right out and say it? 25 total posts under your account, and you're conveniently taking shots at me? I just caught up with this thread... and was surprised that it was about the EOY. I was in charge of refinishing a floor of my acquaintance in NYC some years ago and the team that showed up was Polish. Oh my god! I lost most of a day of work keeping an eye on the progress of the ... work. What is it about you guys?

Being a dumb wop, ginzo, or whatever... I heard the Italian language as a child. The Italian for Polish is "polacco". Many Italians often dropped the final vowel in their local dialects so that the word became "polacc' "... albeit with the stress on the second syllable. Consequently I really had no clue that the term "Polock" was a derogatory comment... and especially since my parents were friends with a variety of people with different ethnic backgrounds. Indeed my dad often went out of his way to foster friendships with those who came from different ethnicities while still being very proud of his own heritage and traditions.

 

Along those lines I find it quite admirable as noted above that Tristan is close with his family and proud of their traditions.
