Not sure how many A4A members we have here, but thought I'd toss this out since I don't really have another venue to ask this.

For the past month or so, it seems like most times I log on my profile will be viewed by 5-10 people almost as soon as I log on. Here's what's odd about it: Most of these people aren't in my location, though they are typically also in California. Most of them are far younger than me, in their twenties to mid thirties. Almost all of the profiles list HIV status and sex role preferred but none of them list "safe sex only" or "anything goes." In other words, none of them have answered the question about safe sex. Also, probably 95% of these profiles list their waist size as 1". Nothing in these profiles indicates that they are masseurs or escorts, or that they are looking for daddies or for someone generous, but I am assuming that that is what is behind all of this. But I still don't understand how so many people who aren't even local to me would be viewing my profile in such a short period of time, usually within just one or two minutes. It makes me wonder if someone could have written a script that's running on A4A that simply views all profiles as people log on, but then I wonder why would someone want to have a script that does that?

Maybe I should just write one of these guys back and have a little chat to see where it goes since that might provide more clues.

Haven't had that issue at all. I've noticed that people from out of my area look at my profile, but that could be when you're logged on through your cell phone the most recent profiles that have logged on are the first to show up on the A4A screen when you enter the site.

I'd recheck your personal profile location to ensure it still reflects where you really are. If it's correct, it just might be that those people have changed their location temporarily to cruise guys in your area. I think the latter is probably more likely. Their profile would still reflect where they lived. Also, they might be visiting your area using the mobile feature of the site.

The rest you mentioned is probably just laziness or they just don't care.

My profile does correctly list where I am. I should add that the guys who check out my profile all at the same time aren't all in the same location. Many of them are in Southern California, but not all in the same city. Others are in other areas in Northern California.

I guess what has me convinced that there's something strange going on is that my profile will be viewed many times within the first 60 seconds or so after I log on. It just seems unlikely that so many random guys in other areas are all deciding to view my profile in such a short period of time given how many A4A users there are in San Francisco.

I have not encountered what you described, but I have encountered strangeness with A4A's location settings. For weeks, they had me more than 30 miles from my actual location. I finally turned off location services, logged off, logged back on, turned location services back on and the problem was solved.
