All I can think of is that guys in this price range are busy with other kinds of work, and only want to "work it" for extended appointments. (his overnight rates are reasonable) Keeping # clients to minimum and charging a premium rate is probably tough getting established, but also probably a more sustainable strategy in the long run ... assuming he's got a day job.

Out of my range, but all power to him if he can make it work.

You never really know what something is worth until you begin the process of selling it. If there's no market at today's price, the market will create tomorrows price.

And there you have it, along with the likely reason he is asking $400. He's a hustler. For me, stolen photos = hustler = disappointed client. That's my rule of thumb.

The lead pic and the one of a guy in a hat are borrowed from two different models on modelmayhem.

But how do we know that he isn't the model?

Based on my experience of many years working in the fashion and luxury industries of NYC, I find Model Mayhem a dubious site and service at best. Should the advertiser in question actually be the model found on MM, then I'm happy to take the 'loss' so to speak. I've read one review or thread too many concerning a client hiring a man who in no way resembles the photos posted in the ad. I've never experienced that and so I will continue to rely on my own vetting methods.

And perhaps - just maybe - the escort in question IS also the same model who is working it on the side, and because he sees himself as a handsome model, justifies that with the higher price (which in its own twisted way makes some odd sense that he can charge such high rates for NYC).

It's a fake ad. The model is a friend of mine, and his ex went on a spree of posting his pics on sites like that as revenge. The ad was taken down by Rentboy after being reported as fraudulent.

I found the second picture once under a different name, but I can't find it again today. Sometimes models use more than one name. His rentboy ad is now gone.

I spent two hours with Jared Rhyne, the escort in the (now removed) rentboy ad. He was the guy in the photos and was fantastic. Love to contact him again but his cell phone number is no longer active. Anyone have current info?

While he was the guy in the photo, he is a thief and liar. Steals your clothes, accessories, wallet, and anything with a label, and uses over 10 aliases in his 'business'. Not to be trusted! Be warned!

Could you offer more about your time together?
