Ahoy Mates! This movie with the gorgeous Orlando Bloom and the delightfully flaming Johnny Depp is loads of fun! Not a lot of skin, but hey, adventure for everybody*

* Well, there are those curmudgeons who might not like a good pirate tale...

Can't wait to see this movie. It got a good review in the W. Post today, but really the way the critic went on and on about how hot Johnny Depp looked with his dreadlocks (I think dreadlocks are soooo sexy) and the lear in his eyes, I had to conclude the critic is not only one of us, but also one of us who is in lust for Johnny. Sigh, I know I'm going to go see it just to see Johnny. The fact that it is supposed to be a good story is an added bonus.

I have never heard of Orlando Bloom, but I must say that judging from the still shot of him from the movie that he is indeed another handsome, hot sexy man! As I said, got to go see this one immediately! }(

RE: TWINK Of The Caribbean

I wonder if Orlando Bloom qualifies as a twink with the experts here in Hooville. He sure is cute, with lovely eyes and lips, great cheekbones, and a real man's jawline. Yummy. He may be the new Johnny Depp.

Orlando in Bloom

Orlando Bloom was the blonde long haired arrow shooting elf Legolas in the Lord of the Rings movies and was featured in a GAP commercial with actress Kate Beckinsale where the couple are walking down the street and a crowd forms behind them and starts chasing them. Maybe you've seen any of those.

He's a Justin Timberlake type so that might make him a twink....but I'm not going to complain.

The greater the effort, the greater the reward! Don't forget, I risked several hours of my time to see this movie for you. If I hadn't done that, you might not have ever learned how beautiful Orlando is in this movie! Now you can go see it knowing that it has been pre-viewed for you. Isn't that worth something, Barry?:)

A pirate's tale is a tail

Lucky,

I like all kinds of tail, whether pirate or otherwise. Saw it this afternoon and I had a great time. Big Movie, Great cast, and yes for those Twink lovers, Orlando is a dream. Big epic soundtrack (ala Gladiator) and the cinematography is incredible.

There now I have posted this in the right place, can I have my cookie?

RE: Pirate's

My summer movie season got off to a great start. Last night, I saw the movie, "Pirates of the Caribbean, the Curse of the Black Pearl". I found it to be very entertaining and captivating... Good acting, creative plot, lots of action mixed with humor, beautiful settings, and wonderful effects... Johnny Depp's acting is brilliant, what a "queen"! ... This summer's must see.. Thanks Lucky for recommending it.

RE: Pirate's Peril

Glad you liked the movie, Cooper. The way movies open big and then drop off like a dead fly I would encourage those who want to see it to see it now while it is in the theaters with the better sound systems and bigger screens...

RE: Pirate's Peril

Just saw this movie last night and was pleasantly surprised. It was perhaps a bit long, but had great costumes and soundtrack. I especially liked Geoffery Rush as Captain Barossa. It might not be the best movie you see this summer - but it will be the best pirate movie you see!

While on the topic of summer movies, has anyone seen the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? If Sean Connery was not it in I would probably skip it.

RE: Pirate's Peril

As usual-I give my all for art!

Did a multiplex popular movie orgy the other night.Saw three films in one evening.

1)League of extrodinary gentleman. It could have been great! What a waste of talent and money.Sean Connery is a whore for doing this film-should have walked out-returned his fee.Silly, silly film that gets worse the farther. the "plot"moves along.Stupid use of CGI and other effects.

2)Pirates of the Carribean.Better than the above.Good swashbuckling film with great special effects.Good for teen age boys(and their admirers?)

Now we have to wait until fall to see how Eddie Murphy does in the haunted(or hainted?)Mansion-kind of looks like Abbot and Costello meets Step and Fetchit.

3)Finding Nemo.Very cute Pixar cartoon.Great for young kids and their folks.I,for one, wish they would put the same money and skill into a REAL animated feature instead of the computer assisted ones with forign(australian?)animation.None of these will ever surpass the great disney anomated films.

I will see some GOOD films this weekend, the ne Stephen Frears Movie and Swimming pool perhaps.

And now I must search for some cute kittens and step on their tails!
