Advertising Fail in Myrtle Beach

I will admit defeat. Was not my best idea to advertise in Myrtle Beach, for many reasons.

 

1) I was with family. (This may sound either very brave or declasse of me, but in my defense they spent most of their time on the beach or doing tourist activities, and were all typically exhausted and in bed before 10pm. I also had another separate (and extremely beautiful) resort in the works for an in-call.)

 

2) Our resort had HORRIBLE wifi. I was maybe able to respond to an email or two while actually in the suite, and outside the room my cellular reception decided to be crappy as well. My laptop basically sat on the desk charging for the entire weekend.

 

3) Some of the perspective clients were VERY shady and sketchy in requesting me for my time. Ranging from a "drowning fetish" to a man that wanted to masturbate while I slurped Aristocrat rum out of his belly button as he made out with his [wife, girlfriend, whomever]...

To the drowning fetish, I had no words. I've heard of some crazy fantasies... And I don't know about some of you guys, but I'm not too fond of meeting up with a client that likes to be held or wants to hold me underwater. No way in hell.

The other guy was actually quite humorous, but sketchy at the same time... I don't care what my rates are or how much you're paying me. There were quite a few deal breakers with this one, and Aristocrat was definitely at the top of the list. There isn't enough money in the world to make me enjoy that stuff.

 

and lastly, 4) I had too much fun on my own. Seeing as how I couldn't connect with any hirers or other escorts, I spent a lot of time shopping, pampering myself, enjoying time spent with family, and even went for a ride on the ever-so-famous Slingshot (which, might I add, I rode with my little sisters 13 year old friend and I was the only one that screamed).

 

Anyhow, not sure if any of you guys have ever actually advertised or hired in Myrtle Beach. If so, I'd love to hear some of your stories.

I have toured MB and I know at one point in time there was a well reviewed escort out there, I can't remember his name, but before I retired he was making some good waves out there from what I remember. So, MB, my experience was much the same (flake wise not in cheap liquor and drowning stuffs) I have managed to stay in touch with one client from years back, but he has slid off the map, also. What I have found is that MB is just not a good market (for me) and I go for fun with friends and if work comes of it, that's great, but I do not hold my breath on that. I am glad that you were able to spend quality time with your family-for me, that is numero uno for sure. Chalk it up to lesson learned and move forward. I had a very hands-off perspective on advertising while I was there, anyway, so it wasn't too much of a loss. Not saying Myrtle Beach is a bad place, persay. It is lot's of fun and there's lots to do there, but as far as advertising goes, I'm guessing it's not too hot for pretty much anyone (the girls have said that it isn't good for their advertising either).

And for stuff like that, and for requests to gut punch the guy crazy, I think the best thing was some advice I heard Ace give Dane last week: get a release signed by them. Actually the drowning and choking thing I probably wouldn't go near in case something goes horribly wrong. No release would relieve you of legal responsibility in the worst-case scenario.

Sounds like Corpus Christi in Texas. I was 2.5 hrs away at the time...Had a girl call me from my ad telling me about the 'market' there being so good and busy...but she sounded like she wasn't wrapped too tight herself. I agree....In fact, I would be careful about anybody being encouraged to go anywhere from anyone. I will say this, mostly ALL of the places I've been to and found it to work for me, were not suggested upon by another escort. I had to find them out on my own. I'm not saying Mikey is wrong, but if a city was really, really good...why would someone even want everyone else to know it?

You're saying non of those cities have guys that travel through? I know one thing, those places are far from having no competition, to my definition of it. All those cities you mentioned have no shortage of guys traveling through. Not saying they aren't good...but those type of cities, you're still going to have other guys to contend with on a daily basis. You may travel in on a Monday, but by Friday...10 other escorts traveled in right behind you.

I grew up in South Carolina, and my advice to an escort is bypass Myrtle Beach as a part of a tour. I think the problem with touring anywhere in S.C. is just the fact there are so few ads up for anyone that you just don't have enough critical mass. I would think that along the coast, Charleston would be the best place to try out though.

 

As for Atlanta, I've heard everything from fantastic market to bad market. I think it's hit or miss / feast or famine here for touring escorts, but I know for a fact it's not as bad as for all touring escorts as Devon has experienced. I've hired quite a few passing through and a number of them said they've had good experiences. So it's not one in 100. In my personal experience alone, it's more like 50% saying they've had a good tour, and I've been turned down completely before by guys who were booked up.

 

I'm surprised he hasn't done better, because Devon H definitely fills an underserved niche in Atlanta.
