I can remember the print version of Playgirl in several spots.

 

Early on when the guys mostly had moustaches. This was before I was old enough to buy one; I saw my first one because it was in a trash can.

 

 

The early 90's when they had great photographers and some porn stars like Marc Anthony Donais who later became Ryan Idol and who later went to prison because of a toilet tank lid.

And one of their last issues where it really didn't look any much different from the most common gay porn magazines.

 

Is it still out there and pumping out the porn? I remember it went online, but did it survive?

I think it resumed print issues, but not a monthly version - maybe quarterly.

 

My favorite Playgirl photo spread is of Ronnie Kroell.
