I never tip, however I go give gifts. If I am meeting an escort for the first time, a small trinket might be given upon his arrival or my arrival at this hotel. Something on the order of Linzer Truffles, homemade chocolate covered strawberries or another relatively inexpensive item. If I have seen an escort more than once, I would usually know of their interests and would tailor a gift to their interests.

 

Nice thing about the chocolate items, feeding the escort prior to or during sex can add another sensory treat to the act. A chocolate covered strawberry afterwards seems to taste much sweeter. Despite my preference for muscular and fit escorts, none has ever turned down a chocolate treat.

One only tips when the provider does not receive fair compensation for their work or full compensation. If a massage provider works for a company and is only paid hourly or on a percentage basis then yes tip, hairdressers the same rule applies, one does not tip the owner of the shop as he or she receives the full amount of the payment. We don't tip professionals who set their own prices, thus I do not tip escorts. Now if the escort works for an agency then a tip would be appropriate; however, I personally refuse to use an agency for escorts, so it is never an issue as far as I am concerned.

That's how I've always looked at it, but I do bend that a lot for escorts. I got a relatively inexpensive massage from a guy that turned into everything but full-on fucking, with talk that made it clear that that was on the table for subsequent appointments. I gave him more than his asking price.

From a scorts point of view, I typically don't mind when a client doesn't tip for the fact that (as many of you have stated) we do have the freedom to setting our own rates. Sometimes, if there is something I could really use the extra money for (bills, food, gas for my v8 SUV), then it is a bit of a confidence booster to receive a little something extra. However, I have been known to every now and then politely decline added tips from clients, ESPECIALLY if I enjoyed my time as much as he did. I've noticed most of the bigger cities with more traffic tend to be well-known for tipping clients, such has been the case few times for me while working here in Raleigh. It has typically been the out-of-town clients (usually in larger, more populated cities than Raleigh) that have offered an added "gratuity."

I'm not a cheapskate but I never tip escorts. At $250 a pop, as the saying goes!, I've spent as much as I can. I tip waiters, etc. generously, but they don't make $250 for an hour of hopefully pleasurable work.

Newbies constantly are joining the site Epigonos and don't know or haven't figured out how to search for prior discussions. I seem to remember one newbie in particular who asked a very similar question when he first started here almost 3 years ago (looking in the mirror as I type ). We beat the topic to death because in some ways, it seems to be almost rite of passage into, what you so brilliantly called, "our unusual hobby".

Considering how often this arises, maybe we could compile a list of these threads, make one master list and then have a sticky at the top of The Deli section so anyone coming can see it. As I said, I started one three years ago and I know I was beyotch-slapped for starting it then, so God knows how many had occurred before that. And it's been asked every couple of months since I've been here too. So many dozens of times since been here and at least a dozen since I have. so maybe a sticky with a list of some of the threads might not be a bad idea. That way we might not go through it.

I'm actually glad that this topic resurfaces from time to time. And I always read it to see if any new arguments on either side have been put forth. Generally speaking there is nothing new here, but that's ok. And when I was a newbie, I was glad that someone had asked the question and guys with more experience than I offered their perspectives.
