Doma is gone! Russian groom anyone? Would you marry an escort to give him US citizenship?

A US passport for sex/love?

We already have "Russian brides", what about: Brazilian, Russian, Colombian, Middle Eastern groom?

I could only do this in a profound and sincere manner; I could not do this superficially! We both would have to be sincerely in love and committed to each other

irrespective of his being an escort. And more than likely he would have to change his "profession" as well. I want to be the only one who would be sexually

and emotionally involved with him. -:)

One of the right wingnut radio talking heads warned just in the last few days that if gay marriage becomes legal it'll lead to exactly this sort of "fake marriages". Because, you know, straights have never4 done it. <sigh>

He also warned that we'll see straight guys getting married to get some of them benefits.

Of course we haven't seen any of that in Massachusetts in the more than a decade they've allowed gay marriage, and you just know the right wingnuts are so rubbed up about it they'd trumpet any single case as proof of their point.

They probably view the God-awful "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" as a documentary

Great comparison, but with a Green Card turn...

Oh, don't worry. They're all going to be all over the media today and for as long as it makes them money.

NOM's Brian Brown and Maggie Gallagher are out decrying the injustice, the travesty, etc. AFA's Bryan Fischer, even before the decisions came out, was urging states to ignore the SCOTUS decisions if they went "the wrong way" (implying of course, that they should abide by them if they went "the right way").

There won't be any shortage of nutjob fireworks.

It's unclear why Green Card fraud would be more common among gays than straights, who try it all the time. ICE/UCSIS requires couples to present pictures of themselves in various locations, receipts over time, notes to each other, and more. And the interviews, especially of the person getting the card, are reputed to be brutal.

Makes you wonder how it will effect their fund raising. The tide has shifted and it's one failure after another with them. Plus, there's a bit of a time crunch as their mostly elderly financial supporters die off year after year. Plus, in the next few years society will see the hateful BS they've been spinning just isn't true. Just like when DADT was lifted.

Well, Exodus has folded. (And no matter what they say, it had to be money.) NOM has been sending out pittiful emails to members begging for money because they're running out all through the Prop8 trial. Their legal team was apparently worried they might not get paid.

Even the Boy Scouts half-folded their anti-gay tents. All announcements to the contrary it was because they were losing corporate sponsors, and will likely continue until they fold all the way.

These groups will dwindle, and rapidly, but they'll never completely go away. Heck, the KKK is still active after all these years. There will always be a market to take money from nutjobs.

DON'T, under any circumstances, let your "little head" lead you into a green-card marriage with somebody you barely know or only have seen on the internet. The immigration authorities are very aware of marriage fraud and people get busted for it all the time. There are severe criminal penalties for the American party involved, and the foreign spouse will end up deported and barred from returning to the U.S. Even if you do succeed in fooling immigration, if your hasty marriage disintegrates or blows up the only way to end it is divorce, and then you're looking at alimony and division of property. You can hardly bring up that the marriage was actually fraudulent during the divorce proceedings because then you're back facing criminal charges! So fantasize all you want, but don't even THINK about marrying someone who you wouldn't marry under normal, sane circumstances! Whether your intended is (or has been) a sex worker isn't important. Whether you're both really in love and you've known each other long enough to be confident that you have a real relationship is! Otherwise, you're risking ruin in any number of ways! Don't say nobody warned you, because you just have been!
