I always wondered if other members here worried about disease when hiring a super famous escort? You know as a matter of fact that he is having sex with a couple other guys on that day. The likelihood of him having a STD without knowing is higher than any other escort. The rate is probably proportional to his fame. Now am I missing something here?

Blanket generalizations are sexy.

I assumed when you say "famous" you mean "successful", right? One who does his job (gets paid for sex) a lot, right?

Abstinence is the only way to prevent an STD, you can get something from a date a hook up or paid sex.

I always assume everybody is poz and I'm the only negative person in the world, I get tested and I'm more afraid of syphilis than Hiv.

I tried sending you a PM and I couldn't do it, you've disabled it. That's why I'm writing you on here.

Who's making generalizations? Please elaborate your point of view.

I was referring to what the OP had posted in his opening statement. He made generalizations that I did not personally feel were very accurate.....I realize that I posted below you, but my comment was directed at the OP.....

Generally, guys in the adult film industry(Depending on Studio, of course..), have more test results to show than non-performing workers...but given that most porn performers have 'bounced around' to studios like JetSet, NextDoorMale, etc. in addition to Raging, Lucas, etc.- they'll have at least one or two results to show. It's a better baseline, IMO, than complete and utter anonymity/no results. But that's just me. I had the stigma of doing bareback work on video early in my career, and in the back of people's minds- they assumed for a time that I'd do that during sessions. Anyone who has played with me knows otherwise...but it's taken yearrrrrrs to escape the stigma...including showing results(when an expectation of privacy can be guranteed)from time to time to give piece of mind to people who are on the fence between playing or not.

I'd consider guys like AJ super-famous and super busy; but I'd also vouch that he is one of the safest and cleanest people I've ever met- and his volume is super steady...so I agree with Chris that it can be kind of a blanket generalization. ..

clarification

well, I am talking about MY WORRY about the TENDENCY, not about everybody, and I am not saying every escort/client should apply to this. Of course, I am very careful and I presume a lot of clients here are. So are some escorts. So just don't tell me, hey I am clean, so your theory is wrong or I am not famous. IF the theory is correct, you could be just an outlier. Or it could be wrong. That is why I am asking because I am UNCERTAIN, thus worry, thus I am asking. I think a lot of people here who said blunt generalization actually jumped to the conclusion by themselves.

Anyway, compared to an average Joe, a famous (in the sense that he gets hired a lot) escort would have sex with many more people and we don't know what they are doing with other clients and they don't what the clients were doing before them at the time we hire them, so I worry. I go through a lot of profiles and realized some escorts just do anything for money and it seems like a lot of clients do ask for unprotected sex. Some nicely note things on their profile but most escorts are silent about safety. And I know many escorts do oral without protection, so I worry about STDs through oral and kissing. [Actually, I am not very worried about HIV because of protection and I don't do it often. But I like kissing and I really cannot protect myself well in this case...] If someone is having sex with many people without protection, then they are more LIKELY to have STDs, so statistically speaking, famous escorts are exposed more to STDs? Of course it depends on their protection level etc and I am sure escorts on this board are particularly careful about many things but let's be honest, think about most escorts out there!

So how do you protect yourself from 14 days window for HIV test result? I have had this issue with someone I regularly hooked up...Even if you have a test result, you know what the person was doing in the last 14 days...

And is it acceptable for clients to ask for test results???

My only concern with hiring a famous porn star is that his attention would be diverted among multiple clients within a short time frame and not have time to focus on the present. I recall having a fairly famous pornstar over recently and he seemed a little distant (as opposed to me seeing him originally in his west coast town) and upon finishing our session had to ask me for directions to his next appointment. That was not too classy but i understand his need to make hay while the sun shines :)

I tend to have a better connection with regular nonpro guys (as opposed to famous ones).

I totally agree with you but good nonpros are really hard to find. I think once someone builds up the career and accumulates good reviews, he gets busy. On the other hand, non-pros are hard to find, uncertainty of satisfaction etc. I tend to look out for nonpros but when I need the absolute certainty, I go for the best in town. Sometimes the best fails, and when that happens, usually more disappointing because of high expectations and high cost. But when non-pro fails, I usually don't get disappointed much probably because I usually expect less and pay less. But when they connect with me and do the quality of the best, oh boy, I try to tip more so that they get paid equally to the top and I try to put reviews on them. Hard working and nice people should be rewarded and we have to help them get successful! I guess it's like a gamble lol Do you know any good ways of finding non-pros??

I must say I agree totally with mickey9nola regarding the way this thread has developed. One simply CANNOT and SHOULD NOT make generalizations when it comes to how people, and that includes escorts, famous or otherwise, are going to behave under certain circumstances. This entire issue come down to something we discuss over and over again on this site. One simply MUST communicate ones requirements. preferences, desires, and conditions to the escort with whom one is dealing PRIOR to getting together. I have had several wonderful experiences with "famous" escorts both in my home and in their hotel. Before getting together we discussed my expectations and if the escort was able to meet them we got together if not we didn't -- it's that easy. If we as clients make our expectations clear we will likely not have problem, communicate, Communicate, COMMUNICATE.

communicate, Communicate, COMMUNICATE.

yes, the most important thing....I met with a "famous" escort earlier this week (review is coming) and I "communicated" with him beforehand!!!....all went perfectly.....whether or not he was famous, I would've communicated with him and, if appropriate, taken the normal health precautions during the meet.....fame has nothing to do with it

One more note on this thread. The most frequently cited average window period is 30 days, not 14. And can be as long as 3 months.

Important to know which type of test was used:

How soon after exposure to HIV can tests detect the virus?

Even among antibody tests, the window period varies. The so-called “first-generation” and “second-generation” HIV antibody tests detect one type of HIV antibody. On average, they can detect antibodies 42-60 days after infection.

Third-generation tests detect all types of antibodies, which makes them more sensitive than the first-generation and second-generation tests. These assays can detect antibodies about 21-24 days after infection.

Fourth-generation tests can simultaneously detect both HIV antibodies and antigens. Tests that look for the p24 antigen can detect it within 14-15 days. Tests can detect plasma HIV RNA (ribonucleic acid) within about 10 days of infection.

forgive me as i do not mean to be unkind but this thread is total bullshit! not the comments but the op. I hate generalizations and sterotypes. it is rude!

forgive me as i do not mean to be unkind, Mikey, but your comment might be falling into justification of the generalizations/stereotypes. Please google naked statistics, it might help...
