I wanted to ask if anyone had any experience with either the Terrazzo Palm Springs Resort or the El Mirasol Resort. I have read reviews but would like some feedback from anyone who has stayed at either place .:-)

Thanks !!!

I've never stayed there, but friends who have tell me Terazzo is excellent. (Paging Franco DiSantis! He's our local Palm Springs expert.)

I can also tell you that Terazzo has a long history as a host hotel for the Bad Boys Pool Party. The owners are GREAT about supporting the charity event. El Mirasol has had no involvement.

Of course, Terazzo only has something like 12 rooms so it's a VERY intimate setting. Don't be expecting crowds in the hot tub. ;-)

One of my favorites in PS is Citadel, actually. It's not on anyone's top 10 list but they're determined to be there and it shows. It's just a lovely, walled suite of rooms with two pools, assorted hot tubs, and lots of little nooks and crannies for ... err ... making memories. And don't be surprised if pornstar Hawk McAllistar is serving breakfast.

(I just love Hawk's wicked sense of humor. Standing poolside watching Michael Brandon fuck the bejeezus out of some twink in the pool his only comment was "they're gonna need a LOT of chlorine in this pool tomorrow!")

Check out the badboyspoolparty Yahoo group. Producer Will Clark posted an overview of a LOT of the gay resorts in Palm Springs. You might see some things that hadn't occurred to you in choosing a resort.

I stayed at Inn Exile, http://www.innexile.com/, last thurs. Very nice, $85./nt. Probably the newest and nicest, but I also like Inndulge and Vista Grande(both older and busy). They are all on the same road, Warm sands, and it's a very cruisy road at night, as the 8 or 10 gay resorts are all one after the other, and guys are walking up and down the road.

I've been going to Palm Springs in the winter for about 10 years and always stayed with a friend who had a house in the Warm Sands area where there are a lot of guest houses. Sadly, he passed away. The only resort I've ever stayed at was the El Mirasol and I really liked it a lot. The week I was there it rained the whole time. A real vacation killer! Despite the weather I had a good time because I liked the place so much. I met some really nice guys who were staying there. Breakfast and lunch were included which I think made it a very good deal. The food was good too. The guys who ran the place really went out of their way to make sure the guests were happy. I thought the rooms were very comfortable and nicely furnished. Also had two very nice pools which I didn't get to use much because of the rain. I did check out several other resorts that were in the area and decided I had made a good choice. It's an easy walk into town so renting a car isn't necessary which I like. I'm always happy to avoid driving on vacation if I can. If you are looking for a wild sex orgy kind of place I didn't get the impression that happened at the El Mirasol. But it was raining a lot so who knows? By the way, two friends I know spent this last weekend in Palm Springs and the temperture was 105. Hope you like warm weather!

El Mirasol

The voice of experience really has nothing further to add to what Foxy stated except the following: El Mirasol is not cruisy, in spite of its status as a clothing optional hotel. The owners have attempted to spend some time and money refurbishing the place, but as other places have done the same, this establishment has not done so. I am in agreement that the food served is good and every client I have ever seen at this establishment was always complimentary.

However, the crowd does skewer to older (as a relative term) if you want eye candy younger than 30 and it is more sedate (which frankly is one thing I personally prefer). Once you are in Warm Sands, one simply need walk outside and one can do all the cruising you wish. The nice thing about NOT having a cruising environment at your resort is that it gives less of a bathhouse, sleaze environment, there is more respect for your privacy and relaxation.

Inn Exile/InnDulge/Vista Grande

Inn Exile is not quite the newest. In approximately the mid-1990s, the owners took several properties, combined them, remodeled them and created a very popular, very attractive resort. It is one of the few resorts at its price point that has a decent enough gym to workout short of hitting the new World's (strongly recommended) or Gold's.

They also have very good parking, the grounds are very attractive as are most of the rooms. It is, however, hard to get a reservation on short notice. They are often booked months in advance, EVEN in the off season. I cannot say enough nice things about this place, however this is all based on physical plant and client comments. I have never personally experienced the staff there as a guest, only as a guest of a client, thus I never felt it appropriate for me to interact much with the staff as I may have in establishments where I paid for my own room.

The crowd can skewer younger (this means 30s) and can also skewer more attractive, but no one at any age or appearance will feel out of place. In fact, in nearly all the Warm Sands establishments, this is the case.

InnDulge can be viewed in any number of Catalina videos, it is a nice, midpoint establishment where often guests make friends with other guest, based on the layout and conduciveness. The clients I have met there are clients who return (for example, to the tennis tournament at Indian Wells for two weeks every spring) and who see many of the same guests every year. The age is also younger but not as young as Inn Exile.

By the way, when I say young, anyone hoping for true twinks or even mid 20 year old guest is suffering from a fair amount of delusion to believe that this age group will spend their spare funds at a Palm Springs resort. You can find this crowd more frequently at the weekend dance parties at Heaven.

Vista Grande is cruisy without resorting to the sleaze of some of the other establishments which offer "day use" passes. Frankly, those places are little more than hotels disguised as bathhouses and if you seek that, I can make some recommendations. But if you are going to be in Palm Springs for more than 24 hours, I really doubt you would want to stay in the equivilent of a bathhouse.

Vista Grande has been riding on its reputation since the mid-1990s and could use some refurbishing. The staff can also have some atttitude, but the owner is a great guy, they have some people on their staff who are genuine gems and some very nice aspects of their property. Be warned, some of the rooms only have wall units and the AC is not the best.

Experience? Is not that another word for been around the block once too many times?

Terrazo/Citidal/Palms

I highly recommend a place called the Palms which is NOT in the Warm Sands area. If you are with friends or do not want a purely sexual or highly sexually charged enviroment but rather want a quality, relaxing environment, I would suggest you check this place out. The same comments apply for Terrazo.

The Citidal was purchased by the owner of the San Vicente Inn last summer, which was the last time I was there. I am moving in there tomorrow after my overnight tonight, and will be happy to report first hand later this weekend. However, thus far, the staff has been very accomodating and, as Deej said, they are reallyy working hard to create an upscale enviroment.

Michael Brandon used to live in Los Angeles and Palm Springs. As his film relationship with Raging Stallion is keeping him in residence in San Francisco, he has a great relationship to stay at the San Vincente Inn in West Hollywood and The Citidal. The upshot of this is that guest at either establishment are often "treated" to the Michael Brandon experience up close and personal. Does this mean he will do you for free? No. Does that mean he will do some porn pup during a pool party in front of a crowd? What do you think?

RE: Terrazo/Citidal/Palms

Hey Franco,I'm one of the guys who had the good fortune to spend an hour with you at InnDulge in March of 2002 while attending the tennis tournament. You may recall, I spent so much time orally servicing you that I never got the pleasure to expereince your topping ability. In any event, I'd like your suggestion on a resort in Palm Springs that delivers both a great enviornment for relaxation as well as allot of sexual 'opportunities'. Can you help?
