What did you keep hidden from your parents? Besides actual porn, I mean.

And where?

I remember I had a place in the ventilation duct in my bedroom where I had a couple of those sexy Skrebneski Chicago film festival posters.

Interesting...I guess I was lucky, I never really kept anything hidden. I always had my own room, and my parents had a rule that our bedroom and bathroom was "off limits" to everyone...period. They always would knock if the door was closed and even if it was open they would stop at the door and talk from across the room. Growing up, no one ever entered my room without permission. I kept stuff out of plain site, but certainly not hidden.

I did like the links you provided, and some of those old posters would be very cool to have framed for remembrance. I went to San Francisco a couple of years ago and bought from a collector a whole box full of old rock posters from the old "Cow Palace" days. I have framed most of them, and hang a few in the house. It takes me back to a time when life was just a little more crazy than it is today...lol

I once hid a comic book inside my pillow case because I wanted to read it after I had to go to bed. I don't know if I was acting guilty or not, but my Mom found it. She was furious and tore it in two. That was about it for me. Later on my Mom even knew about the 1st time I went to an x-rated movie. It was a drive in- I think it was my 1st year in college. She said if you want to waste your money on that go ahead.

Other than that about the only thing I hid was 'me' masturbating in the bathroom. On the other hand as 'cool' as my Mom was/is- I couldn't bring myself to tell her I was gay until last year. She had her suspicions-I'm 52- never had a girlfriend never really dated. But even then I couldn't tell her- had to get my sister to do it- whom I had only told a few months before.

Join the club Gman..lol Someone once told me that parents always know....I think they were right.

A Sears underwear catalog (not the famous picture that was supposedly the model's cock hanging out from his underwear).Tucked between the mattress & box springs, then one day my mother made my bed and I wondered for weeks if she had seen it.

And I kept my joints in a model Star Trek shuttlecraft on a shelf. I still have the model. Mom never knew, I asked her about it a few years ago.

I sometimes kept copies of my sister's teen fan mags to ogle the shirtless boys. I also used to sneak out of my room via the garage roof to rendezvous with my hot neighbor when I was about 15 lol

Now is the time for all good men... er I mean now is the time to turn Friendofsheila's question around and ask 'What were your parents hiding?'. I didn't remember this when this thread was started yesterday- but the memory just came back to me. When I was in junior high- maybe high school- I don't remember why but I was searching in my parents' dresser. I found copies of 'The Sensuous Man' and 'The Sensuous Woman'. If you aren't familiar with these books, they were about how to be better lovers. The contents were so spicy for the time that the authors only went by an initial. I think one of them was written by 'J'. Well obviously I read both of them. I think I remember one of the books- The Sensuous Woman advocated an exercise of rolling a grape around in your mouth without crushing it.

Then when I was away in grad school, my Dad wanted a subscription to Playboy. But he didn't want anyone to know he was reading it. I mean the neighbors and the mailman- my Mom knew. So Dad ordered the subscription in my name. Now in my life, I have only bought one issue of Playboy- knowing I had no attraction to girls even back then- there was no reason to buy it. The only one I ever bought was one of the Girls of 'The Blank' Conference Issue- where they showcased amateur girls from each of the college athletic conferences in a series of issues. I bought the one for my conference because I had known one of the girls while growing up. She was stepping out of a bathtub- with bubbles placed strategically. I saw more of her than I ever thought I would see of her while growing up-not that her naked body did anything for me :p but the whole situation-minus the attraction part-always reminded me of the story in the song 'Angel Is A Centerfold' by the J Geils Band.

When my older brother moved out he left behind a bunch of paperback books there were miles away from porn, just books my conservative mother didn't approve of. She was also cheap and couldn't bear to throw them away, so she wrapped them up in a paper bag, sealed it and wrote "do not open" on it. Stashed the package in a spare closet where I, of course, found them and opened it, afterwards thinking "all that for this? Who cares!"

When I was in my early teens I had my own room out of the main house. I hid my muscle magazines in my dresser drawer. I once wrote a graphic story that fed into my sex dreams. I used to look at it often to arouse myself. One day it was no longer there. My guess now is that my father found it and used it for his own pleasure!

C'mon guys- I 'outed' some of my parents secrets- although I will disavow any knowledge of this if me or any of my IMF team is discovered. Can't any of you do the same?

Hey Gman, I actually had not read that post, but now that I have, I am afraid that I don't have any secrets really to share about my parents. I grew up in a very traditional home with very traditional values. Sex was never really discussed. My parents were together for 60 years and lived a fairly conservative life. No hanky panky, no runnin around, nothing scandalous. Just very conservative southern values. They were very private about their lives in general, and never really poked around in our lives. They had tremendous respect for our privacy, and never even entered our rooms without permission. Bedrooms were sanctuaries were no one was allowed. My sexuality was never discussed, although as I said earlier, I think they knew. My friend said once that all parents just know, but they were very respectful of my life and love was unconditional...that's it Gman, that's all I got. If you are looking for that smoking gun, I don't think that one will turn up...lol

My parents weren't/aren't what I'd call sex maniacs- at least I'm presuming they weren't/aren't. My parents however weren't sticklers for privacy the way yours seem to have been regarding me or my siblings. Their attitude was more we pay for the house we have right to be in your room when we want. That doesn't mean they barged in especially if the door was closed. But on the other hand, I rarely remember ever doing anything in my room that would need to be hidden- except for reading when I was supposed to be cleaning it up or doing homework. I always masturbated in the bathroom. And I had no dirty magazines or books to hide. I had a friend in high school. His older brother was the wild child and bought a lock to put on his bedroom door. That would never have flown in my house. My parents would have told me what I could do with a lock that prevented them from coming into my room.

As for sex- my Dad couldn't bring himself to discuss it with me and when I was 12 or so- gave me a book. And he told me to ask him questions if I had any.

But surely someone on here on this Forum found their Dad's condoms or his stash of dirty books.

I still have my Skrebneski posters (2, I think, with Steve Lyon and John Allen Nelson, plus one other), and STILL have never had the room to put them up on the wall. I guess they've scarcely seen the light of day for 30 years.

Maybe they'd sell well. Hmmm.

Nice! Sounds like they were very respectful of your privacy.

Gar1eth, could you open a separate thread for your topic? I'd rather hear others speak about mine and not have my topic lost in yours.

Thanks.

Sorry, I got carried away with the topic.
