I have made this mistake too many times over the last four years, and today is the last straw. Yet again I have planned to be in a city to see clients at the request of a single client. As always, the person who requested the visit to the city is the one to book the longest appointment and is the one to cancel less than 24 hours before we are scheduled to meet. Every time this happens it makes me almost scream with frustration. Yes, I set up a few other shorter appointments, but this client's appointment was the one that was supposed to be my reason for going in the first place, and it was the backbone of the trip.

I'm wiser than this. *shakes head in disappointment with self

I'm no longer going to go to a city because someone asks me to. I will go to a city only if I want to go to it. The irony is that I LOATHE this particular city, haven't been in 18 months, and would have never gone again except this client badgered me for 3 months. So, here I am with a plane ticket to a city I hate to go sit and do what? I swear, you werqing boiz need to think long and hard before you go to a city at someone else's request without getting a deposit from the person who requests it. I didn't get a deposit, because he wasn't the only person I intended to see. I really cannot stand being put in these types of positions. This guy's email is deleted, and he is now added to my automatic spam/delete list. As long as he doesn't change email, I never have to suffer him again. So disappointing. I could have stayed at home and gotten other stuff done. Now I HAVE to go to this wretched place to try to at least break even on the trip.

Have a good day. xo

Devon,

It sucks that someone would do this to you because you are one of the good guys. I'm sure you know this isn't the first time an escort has been screwed by an asshole client and it surely won't be the last. Long distance appointments can be very tricky due to the travel etc. Did the client pay in advance for your flight? When I have hired guys who are traveling to me, I always buy the plane ticket immediately so that the escort knows I'm serious and that includes emailing him the confirmation. Do/Did you have certain requirements that need to be met prior to booking a long distance arrangement? I have hired a few guys who I had never met and who were willing to fly to me even in the absence of any prior connection. I have asked them why they accepted my invitation and they always say that they liked the way I presented myself, my knowledge of their concerns and my willingness to work with them. It's a matter of respect and empathy. I wish you only the best.

So sorry to hear this...there is a finite number of guys who play games across the board. Each city has internet trolls with tons of time to play. Quick example, I joined Rentmen last week...I have one who has written me at least 30 times, circling my profile. He has tons of SNs & addresses. These guys have gotten so much more brazen over the years. And if you catch one pulling shit...you get "someday you'll be old & ugly & lonely while I have four doctorate degrees!" LMFAO

SO MUCH of my time is spent trying to weed out and find guys who actually want to keep appointments.

Countryboywny: That's very kind of you to say. I didn't follow any of the "normal" protocols for long distance meetings, because he wasn't my sole client and I didn't think it fair to burden him with the costs of the trip if he weren't the center of my attention.

Xander: No, Atlanta isn't generally any better, which is why I just invited a potential boyfriend (who happens to live in Atlanta) to come spend the weekend with me in Charlotte. LOL YAY for chaos created by flakey people! I haven't dated in seven years. He said he needs to getaway from Atlanta, so perhaps this weekend won't be a total zero after all? Wish me luck... The goddess knows I could use some balance after this monkey wrench in my plans.

SmallTownJohn: I had seen this guy twice before, so my bullshit detector was turned off. It's fine though... Some you win, some you lose. I'm pretty good at detecting red flags, but I can't catch them all. :-)

Have a blast & fuck hard. Make sure he isn't one of our local Sudafed smokers in a man thong. We specialize in those.

How do you 'circle a profile' and how do you know he has? How have you found out about all his screen names and email addresses?

Devon, sorry to hear about you getting stiffed in this way. If the guy just had a sudden life emergency come up 24 hours in advance, I'm sure you'd understand, but from what you relate it sounds like he was pulling your chain....

Anyway, I hope you make it back to NYC sometime because I enjoyed our times together and would love to repeat!!

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you, particularly when you don't like the destination. Your new policy is a good one and clients will benefit from it.

Phoenix. I'm contemplating doing just that. I've done it before. My other appointments would allow me to break even (assuming they don't cancel, too).

LOL, Phoenix is a very flaky town. I like the city, but hate the business there. I've gone there 3 times, but I also cancelled myself last minute 2 of those times. Usually the trip is only mildly good, but on this last visit I had every single client who pre-booked me flake out. So, it's unlikely I'll be making a return visit to that area anytime soon. I have a free hotel night at a resort there that I have to use by July, so I might still end up going. I have a friend there who we go out everytime, so even if business sucks, its not a complete dive.

I also tend to drive and not fly, for the reasons Devon Hunter mentioned. That way if at the last minute a bunch of clients cancel, it's no loss to me as I haven't even put any money into the trip, except maybe the costs of ads. I also need to have more than 1 client requesting my services to go places, unless they are making a deposit for an overnight...
