There was an article in the NY Times Styles section today on blogs. I have to admit I find this a fascinating part of the internet. I was wondering if anyone has run across any gay related blogs that would interest readers of this board?

I've never heard of a blog.. and just spent about 10 minutes trying to find a place that explained what they were.. all I got was listings of hundreds of Blogs and several places where they could host "my" blog. Could someone explain to me what these are? OR is there a link to the text of this NYT article?

"Blog" is short for "weBLOG". They're generally personal diaries of sorts posted by people of various backgrounds. A few have become famous.

 

The most famous of all is probably "Where is Raed", the Blog belonging to a 30-something gay man in Baghdad, who's been reporting on the situation there. During the war he was cut off but he's recently posted again and will probably continue to do so. His Blog has made major newspapers around the world as people tried to decide if he was real or not and he has engendered great sympathy.

Thank you very much BG ... that's exactly what I needed.. and pretty much the vague idea of what they were that I was starting to form from a little more research... now I'm off to see if Locke and Demosthenes are writing anywhere yet

:-( Not that this has anything to do with anything, but, I have stopped getting, paying for, and reading the NYTimes. Enough is enough. If the Editors are fired and replaced with some common sense Editors, I might start buying it again. Sorry for this aside.

If I had a blog, I would write about how I agree with jack on the subject of the NY Times. What a disgrace. Sadly, the heads that should roll won't.
