Actually as an escort sponsor myself, I'm a well-pleased member of the target audience and I encourage such "cocky" behavior. He's a top telling me he's "down to fuck"... The symbolism speaks for itself, concise and to the point. I keep a collection of favorite bird IM's on my phone. I number "cocky punk next door" among my favorite type of roleplay character.

This picture DOES mean "I'm ready to f... you to me" and the guy is not even naked.

The toilet seat means also he's into pig-play (whatever that means for all of us with a dirty mind)

However what you do with your friends in a secure environment and situation and what you do in presenting yourself to the public are entirely different things.

Gman

Thanks for putting that into words, Gman. I flip off friends and people I know well, in jest. I wouldn't think to do it with a stranger.

A guy who'd just started at my work made a very off-color joke within the first few minutes of talking to him. Not even a funny one. It made me wonder about his judgement. I heard a bit later that there'd been some sexual harassment claims at his previous job.

He should join the army or change his behavior.

Anyone remember the idiot college kid who was put in jail for flipping the bird to one of the attorneys in the Casey Anthony trial? It's still obviously a sign of disrespect - enough for the judge to throw the book at him.

I find the whole "thug image" thing annoying - Backpage (at least in Boston) is full of these thug types, and it also annoys me how they all look alike - and please, I don't mean that as a racial slur - I mean that they have the same language in their ads, the same looks on their faces, the same style/manner of clothes, the same kinds of tats, the same overuses of switching fonts in their titles/ads, etc - it's all copycat, and it's just awful. I guess they really do think us white suckers love that shit...I think it's incredibly unattractive.

However, I will say that I have this little fantasy about some cocky dude flipping me a bird while we're in the sack, with my response being to suck it. ;-) Might be fun to gauge his reaction to that, lol.

90% of us agree with you on here, yet several escorts made comments in this forum about how we "just don't get it". Btw gangsta style is also common among Irish and Italian kids in Boston's Southie and Charlestown.

I agree with Bostonman... I have better ways to spend my money than on guys who advertize in that manner. Be a thug if you want, as it is to each his own, but that attitude will severly limit your clientele and also your future.

I wouldn't recommend an escort to have a picture like that in his advertisement.

If Brad does it, it must work, if not he wouldn't do it.

We all hire different kind of guys for different reasons.

I don't buy this as a generational issue. I retired just recently after teaching at the university level for forty years and know many, many men in this age bracket. The young men that i know are still trained to be polite, civil, and well-mannered. It's a matter of breeding, education, training, and yes, class. I am astonished when I see handsome, well-dressed young men advertising themselves by snarling, wearing outsized hats at weird angles, and giving their audience the finger. Where I come from, that means, "Fuck You." I'm not willing to hire someone who thinks so little of me.

Do you remember what some old folks said in the 60's about Beatle's style haircut?

What about hippies?

A woman who's not a virgin on her wedding night?

Having a child out-of-wedlock?

Gay sex? Marihuana?

People, societies, countries, change for good and for bad.

I must agree with you that the fact that some of us don't get this as a joke is a reason for him not to do it. Maybe we should contact him and let him know all this chat about that, he's so famous without knowing it.

I suspect that their behavior in private with peers might not have always been the same as in the presence of an older professor. Context is important. When I was in college, it wasn't too uncommon to see a friendly flip-off or 'fuck you' when horsing around.

That's the only reason I would advise changing a picture.

By the way- there is no such picture in his ad currently. I assume there was when this thread was started?
