The new "pricing" function at M4RN - wtf?

Okay guys, I finally capitulated and got a M4RN ad (though the site frustrates me often). They don't allow named fee schedules, but now they are asking that I kinda add my fee (but not really). They have some kind of random/subjective sliding scale for $, $$, $$$, and $$$$. I asked them what the price ranges are for these arbitrary designations, but (of course) they didn't reply to me. So then... What constitutes $ - $$$$ in your minds? This is so subjective in my mind that I have zero concept of how to use this function. Are any of you using it, and if so what price points do you have in mind?

I chose not to utilize this new pricing function using dollar signs because of its vagueness & ambiguity. I think they've made a bad situation worse by throwing this into the mix. I only keep using this site because clients do, but it is definitely losing market share locally.

I can't say anything or the Mumbai M4RN Mafia will punt me from the site. haha. I wanted to drop the SmallTown stuff, so I chose JohnAtlanta8x7...DENIED: x is a sexual reference. So...I saw other folks using "by" Changed the "x" to "by" DENIED: sexual reference. Complained...they asked me why I wanted to change my name. It was a perfectly good name. I said "because I want to...people change their handles all the time...I'm a long-time blah, blah, blah" And I sent them a link to the Discover Peggy commercials on YouTube.

Men in India do not like to be called Peggy repeatedly. It was very funny and I finally won out.

Fuck all that $, $$, $$ stuff. They're trying to make up for CC Bill reading them the riot act on placing rates in escort ads. CC Bill is not having it. M4RN is not trusting their employees with CC access either. NO, NO NO!

I wish we could solve this chicken-and-egg dilemma with men4rentnow.com. ... Clients would follow you to other websites if you'd just go. And escorts would go to other websites if the clients would just go.

I had high hopes for Atlanta when Rentmen.com went from about 15 to more than 30 escorts. But it seems to have petered out.

I think that the rentmen.com people lurk here sometimes. If so, I'd like to encourage them to offer a promotional rate to escorts who don't appear on m4rn. I think that the current dissatisfaction with m4rn is a real business opportunity for rentmen.com; I wish they would seize it, and pull the momentum their way.

Clients have to be able to find the web sites in the first place, too. If you've already hired an escort once, you can probbably find him again regardless of the site he's on - assuming you haven't kept his contact info already.

But if you Google 'male escorts Atlanta' or something like that, rentmen needs to come up in the top results. (And actually, it does - but the page retrieved actually is NOT Atlanta escorts. http://rentmen.com/male-escorts/gay-male-escorts-Atlanta--GA.html

So what the fuck are we going to do about this then? We've talked to them 100 times already, nothing seems to be working. I often find websites don't 'revert' back to a previous state, we have to adapt or die off (from the website). Maybe it's a good thing. Maybe we need people to die off so things can balance back out again. I know it's a rather harsh and maybe self-centered view of it...but I've also found websites that raised their rates and made things a litte difficult got rid of the immature rookies who create unnecessary competition in an already shrinking client market. You know who they are. The massage therapists advertising on escort sites charging below $100/hour (who in turn attract clients who contact escorts for massage only rates, as if we are running a massage parlor with 10 clients a day and can live off of that). The false advertising MoFos. People who just slop up an ad for a couple weeks to get some extra money and then don't even bother to delete it. We need to get rid of all that bullshit. Whereas the die-hard, ride or die champs who are in for the long haul stuck around through thick and thin and when things got better, they were the last remainder standing to reap the rewards.

$ 100-150 hr

$$ 150-200 hr

$$$ 200-250 hr

$$$$ 300+ hr

Spread the word! I know it's silly, but we have to start somewhere. Last thing we need is someone saying $$$$-150 because he's new and thinks that is top dollar (I've been there). Then the poor guy with $$$$ who is $350 gets told, "I'll pass, there's another guy who will do it for $150.

I only keep using this site because clients do, but it is definitely losing market share locally.

I've lost pretty much all of my market share locally from the site. Every once in awhile, I'll get some signs of life. Luckily my last client locally from the site was just a pure Grade A hunk. So faith was instilled.

...

LOL, thanks that was funny. I wish more places gave out Discover cards, then I'd have all 3 logos.
