I let my ad on that horrid little site go and never looked back.

Indicative on how shitty M4RN is, though, is that you may want to delete your pics and text first, then try to delete the ad itself, rather than just letting it expire. Otherwise it may live on into perpetuity (albeit without contact information), leaving the few potential clients who actually suffer that site to think you're unreachable or unresponsive.

As a client, I too wish that m4rn would die, die, die.

I don't because there are a lot more guys listed in smaller towns. What I wish is they would clean up their act- allow prices, allow links to personal websites, and get rid of those idiotic dead ads.

Ace,

I think the question is how much biz do you get from m4rn? I totally agree with everyone that the site is a piece of shit.. and I don't hire from it, but that's me. I wonder if clients who are new hiring might use it more than more experienced guys??

I know some escorts use it to some success but it depends on the market entirely. Realistically, as others have said, it is a piece of crap. No seeming expiration of ads is the biggest complaint. There were quite a few guys who attended the DC luncheon who had ads up there. And their ads were still on the first page of the DC escorts 3 and 4 weeks after they left town. Which renders it useless to clients, and frustrating to escorts who are actually working in an area. A small, strategically placed thermonuclear device might not be a bad place to begin with that site.

Fair 'nuff (but only a start on what would need to be fixed). I say it'd be more effective to simply expand rentboy into those smaller markets, which happily would be one likely outcome of the death of Men4RetchNow.

Ace - you know what my thoughts are. This is a business that is not run in a way that supports its members lifestyles, the site is never updated with no new tech / features, where expired ads are left online that in the end only hurts the escorts reputation and shows no respect to their clients and community, a business that is apparently at the mercy of a billing provider (change it!!?!) so pricing cannot be posted which puts their paying escort membership in a difficult negotiating situation. Where customer service and support are not top priority! A business that sanitizes profile text to an extent that members can not represent themselves as who they are, a business that increases membership dues and service and product decreases. This is a business that has closed their eyes, tuned out, is turned off and is only watching its return - with no regard for its membership. It is hard to break habits especially when they still provide many with leads in certain markets due to their deep marketing pockets and 15++ years in the business with name brand recognition. These comments are not driven by what I do but because I take pride in this community, its escorts and clients alike - it deserves better. Be a trendsetter and help this industry evolve my friend. There are a few worthy players out there to fill the void.

Exactly...totally agree. I meet more off of M4RN than RB because I don't live in a metropolis.

This man has a good heart. But as with many escort-related websites, I've all seen them go astray eventually (not referring to your site)

Rentboy can be costly when trying to travel. And that's one of the main things I deal with. I would like to do a cross-country adventure but when you factor in the cost of advertising in each one and trying to do it with enough reasonable notice...men4rent assists in that better than rentboy. Too many times I've paid rentboy for travel ads and gotten nothing.

These sites that have 'counters' or 'who viewed you' can be emotionally damaging. I don't want to know that I have 5 billion guys view me in an hour and didn't get a single call. I should at-least be earning an interest % back by the number of views I got. If I'm putting myself out there letting everyone know I'm a *****, I should at least be getting paid for that. Ever thought of that? Webmasters? Are you out there? Somewhere? Good idea here...

What I wish is they would ... allow prices...

You ask, M4RN listens. They just emailed a friend of mine that you now have the ability to display a cost indicator of your rates. Your options will be $, $$, $$$, or $$$$.

How fucking tacky and useless. I'll come back to them just as soon as they go full Zagat.

M4RN, the ¢¢ of escort sites.

whoa ho...wait a minute guys. Men4rent is breaking a little bit of light in the tunnel with their new profile stats. Similiar to how websites use the number of $ to describe price when looking up restaurants, men4rent is now using the number of $$$$ as an indicator of price. Not great, but look at the bright side at least we aren't being immediately looked over by rates. Let's make this official:

$ = $100-150

$$ = $150-200

$$$ = $200-$250

$$$$= $300+ an hour

what do you think?

Rentboy could have expanded into smaller markets if their pricing structure were different. M4RN exists because the competition has priced itself out of such markets.

Much is made of M4RN's dead ads. It's fairly easy to spot them and move on. Yes, it would be better if they didn't leave them out there. Still, once you've browsed halfway through any cities ads you start to see the ads with no phone numbers, and you know you can stop browsing. I've always enjoyed the diversity of escorts on this site.

I'll agree with the remarks on M4RN with a few provisos. #1. Looking at the mobile site you can't tell the expired ads from those who only want to be contacted by email. #2. Occasionally- but not often- I've come to a dead ad- only to find the dead ad was misplaced- and there were current ads after the dead ad. I once even saw the notice that the escort was online and it was a dead ad.

Some problems now with Rentboy- multiple updates ago- when I looked at Rentboy on my iPhone, I could touch the escorts's phone number- in the ad- and it would pop up in a box ready to be 'touched' to make the call. Now they've done some update where touching the number no longer works- at least not in Safari. And my iPhone is the main place I look at Rentboy- so it's annoying, I have to leave the site and write down the number to call. I even sent a message to Rentboy help. They said they would look into it, but never got back to me. And I'm fairly sure it hasn't been fixed yet.

Also both on my iPhone and my lap top, it frequently happens that I choose United States- and the 'states' options never pull up. Sometimes it helps by going to advance search, sometimes not. Finally sometimes I'm looking at Rentboy and trying to go to page 1 after choosing the city I want to look at or sometimes it occurs when I'm trying to get to a subsequent page. All of a sudden the ads disappear, and that stupid picture of the two Asian guys in wrestling attire appear with the wording that there are no escorts who fit my criteria or something like that.

So both sites sometimes leave a lot to be desired.

I use both equivalently. M4RN does have many more ads than RB in Michigan. I once found one of my favorite hires suddenly showing up on the 5th of 7 pages, so I take the extra minute to go through all their pages; it's to the point where I can skim them and a new ad jumps out at me. They don't seem too bad with expired ads here, but honestly, I'm only clicking through to a small percentage of what is listed here.

1. Internet is everything these days if you goggle male escorts or escorts male, M4R comes up first.

2. Well you don't need any more do you as men are generally lazy and will go to Goggle or websearch the first website that comes up.

3. M4R allows multiple city placement which I like and dates visiting. Many gentlemen on rent boy are lazy and just visiting and you don't know how long.

4. M4R has icons at top which allow gentlemen to show whether they just do massage or massage and escort, seems trivial but in search through adds I quickly discard massage only adds. Many times I get through the add on rent boy to see massage as activity but nothing else because many rentboy advertisers are too lazy to put a good description in ad.

I hate the dead ads too. But more ads on M4R for my city and usually none to one on rentboy.

I sent them an email saying if it's CC-Bill that is not allowing rates, then why not switch to a different credit card processor? They had no answer. Something fishy going on...

In my email this morning...

"Dear Chris Eisenhower,

Recently we added some new personal stats. Please login to update your profile. Additionally, you now have the ability to display a cost indicator of your rates. Your options will be $, $$, $$$, or $$$$.

Also, when you login on a mobile device, be sure to turn on your GPS location services. By sharing your location, you will show up in more searches and significantly increase the number of clients who will find you.

Please login and update your new stats and rates so that you will show up in as many client searches as possible. This information will go live in 7 days so please login ASAP."

Okay... so I've logged in and

am checking out the "new personal stats." I'm not really sure why or who thought "open to long term relationship - check yes/no" would be helpful or needed. And what am I supposed to choose for a rate indicator? I never agreed with you guys about the whole rate issue before... but the new changes are not only NOT helpful, but could cause problems with "stalky" clients and actually drive away business if people search by "$."
