I have to admit I'm a sucker for anything in period dress so PBS's new reality show "Manor House" was right up my alley. All I can say is whoever hired the footmen and groom can hire servants for me anytime. I should be so lucky or so rich. The big surprise was the rear nude shot of one of the guys. Mr. Edgar seems rather fond of the footmen too, but I'm hoping we'll see more of the groom. Debauching the stable boy has always been a lttle fantasy of mine. Some day I'm hoping to take a real roll in the hay.

Wasn't it great! The four younger male servants are to die for...Charlie the first footman is my choice. Tall, dark haired with flared nostrils and a wonderful smile. Rob the second footman isn't bad if you like blonds but if you like blonds there's always Tristan the groom. Kenny the hallboy is equally yummy. He wouldn't sleep in the hall in my house. :7

It was shown in Britain last year as "The Edwardian Country House" and won a ton of awards. I found some rather pathetic pictures that in no way do justice to these handsome young guys.

As the modern day equivelent to Mr. Edgar,I am amazed at how much has changed in one hundred years.

The staff I have under me now are all treated in a much more curtious and civil manner.I have to be very careful not to be to bossy,and I always have to reinforce good work-while being very diplomatic about work not up to par.If our household was run in the manner depicted on The Manor House we would have a monthly turnover of staff.

And to afford the staff shown on the series would run upwards of $25,000 a month,and you would never get the hours out of them that they are working.

And you would not get anyone as attractive as the staff shown on Manor House.

Boy what a difference a hundred years can make.

That was a surprise, wasn't it? It was so quick however that I couldn't tell if it was the rosy-cheeked coachman or Rob. There was the quick shot of the coachman changing (just his back) early in the hour, and his shoulders seemed broader than whoever was shown stepping into his pants.

 

I'll definitely be watching this every week!

I was flipping channels when I saw the butt shot, so I had to stick around hoping for more. Luckily my local station reran the whole thing last night.

 

I wonder how many scullery maids they are going to go thru. The chef is a complete asshole.

 

Thanks PBS for giving me a new fantasy, having all those footmen, stableboys and hallboys.... Wonder how long its going to take the porn world to come up with a Porn version... perhaps to be called

 

ManPorn House, or for the bi/tran set Man or.... House.

Unfortunatly in my area (Vancouver) tonight it is being shown in the same time slot as "American Idol" which I have been glued to this time 'round as I am in lust over Josh - the HOT marine.

 

Decisions, decisions......... which to watch - guess I could always tape!

Am I the only one who finds Charlie Clay a major hottie? I checked out pbs.org after tonight's show and discovered that Charlie was a model and runs his own modelling agency.

When I first saw the show (hours one & two) I was rivited.

 

Hours three & four were "so-so"

 

By the time hours five and six came along I was getting pretty bored.

 

There was not enough content to warrent six hours. If it had been condenced to four hours it would have eliminated the boring bits and been much more interesting.

 

I do agree however that all the males under 25 were HOT

The interesting thing about the 3rd night (5th & 6th hours) was Mr. Rag-Singh. What a queen! And the way he was thanking Charlie effusively, with the subtext being come up to my room and let's have a "Maurice" like thing.

I agree - he was too much. I also wondered the same about what's-his-name, the butler.

I saw only a few minutes of the original run, but they ran the entire six hours here yesterday. So I watched. I thought it was excellent. The pbs.org website for the show is quite good, with floor plans of each floor and biographies of each actor. There have been some call-in shows, and Kenny was on the first one. After the shotting finished, he moved into an apartment in rt with Ellen, but they broke up a few months later. He lives with his parents and works at a nursing home with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's patients.

 

I agree about the four young males, and also the son Jonty. My favorite, physically only, was definitely Tristin, but he didn't have much chance to be seen. It was a hard choice between Charley and Rob.

 

Kenny was a lot of fun, but he seems to be irretrievably lost to females.
