That's why I deleted grindr from my phone about 6 months ago. Everyone wanted bareback sex and when you say no they act like your stupid or a stick in the mud. when the idiots them..

I haven't noticed the trend since I'm not a consumer of porn, but I have noticed the escalation of barebacking escorts who openly advertise it. The field of quality providers is narrowing. :(

An article in the Advocate online says that 1 in 5 young gay men are HIV positive. Wonder why?

What possesses people to bareback? And WHY is so much otherwise hot porn insisting on being (as they call it) "condom free?"

Self-destructive behavior, irresponsible film-making, and very sad (and predictable) results.

I don't get it and can't wrap my mind around it. someone recently showed me a few online forums and blogs where they act as if its funny. bragging about HIV talking about barebacking with A poz escort and hoping the act results in becoming infected.. I swear these people have to be on drugs or completely mentally ill

The bugchasers are crazy. And they have a habit of glorifying catching HIV on the TIM forums and the like. I don't get it.

But, I don't understand the mentality. How did it become so acceptable?? HIV meds may prolong life and help you live satisfactorily, but you still have to take the meds everyday and deal with the side effects. Maybe it is the invincibility that the young feel and not realizing that they will grow old and still have it till the day they die?

Side effects are not an inevitability—I know people who are on meds and have never had any problems, even after ten years or more. It's when they come off the meds (drugs, apathy, etc) that the problems start. That's why I raised that issue about JW, because some patients get tired of the daily regimen. I don't understand this. If I could take a pill everyday for the rest of my life and never get a cold or the flu again—I'd sign up tomorrow.

You're on the right track about the young—it's been documented that many people feel HIV is going to happen to them regardless of what they do, therefore they might as well get it over with. And the ad campaigns that are for marketing HIV meds have some negative effects as well—since they tend to show some happy person who looks healthy, along with the typical slogan of how easy the new med is, or that it has virtually no intrusion on your life, "so you can get back to living" or some such. I think if the government wants people to really wake up about STDs, they should have students work with end-stage patients personally at some of the public clinics.

I understand the passions here, but isn't that a bit harsh? Does that apply to people who smoke, skydive, go hiking in the wilderness necessitating rescues, drink excessively, obese people, etc.? (On a related note, does this apply to straight bareback porn as well, or just the gay porn?) Whether or not we render so-called "free medial assistance" (nothing's really "free") isn't based on passing judgment on those who may deserve care. It's based on principles of basic human dignity, in that we offer care for those who need it, not those whose lifestyle choices we agree with. Plus, I'm sure that even for BB porn actors, many of them have calculated their risk to a level that's acceptable to them (like those who are already poz, or who only film with others of the same status, or only participate in certain acts), which may reflect a more considered judgment than those other high-risk behaviors and categories into which people expose or place themselves knowingly or without much thought. But I think I get your frustrations, though.

imo anyone that does bareback porn shouldn't receive any type of free medical assistance

To address the original post's concern that BB porn is a trend that's exploding, I think this may be more a reflection of the porn market's pendulum starting to swing back as compared to how it swung so far in the pro-condom direction a few decades ago in response to the AIDS crisis. The more things seem taboo, the more some people have an interest in it. Many go so far as to resent what they feel is some form of "censorship" or a restriction on their choices. Whatever. I generally pass no judgment on what forms of media and/or entertainment that people like to consume, and it honestly doesn't disturb me all that much, whether the subject is porn, violent movies, video games, music, crude comedy, politics, trashy reality TV, or any other number of things. I think people should be free to watch/listen to whatever they like.

Now, the blogs glorifying bug chasing, and the statistics indicating that younger people are getting infected in higher rates -- those indicate disturbing trends. As to the younger folks, I think it's not too different from younger generations of women taking reproductive rights for granted because they'd been thought secure since the early 1970s. For many younger men who have sex with men (not all identify as gay or even bi), they have no memory, and thus no emotional awareness, of the incredible scourge that AIDS was prior to the introduction of anti-retroviral drugs, so they don't fear HIV-infection and take steps to reduce their risk.

What's the difference between extreme bareback sex and bareback sex?[/color]

imo take pre condom porn. back in the 80s when they didn't use condoms they would pull out cum on the guys chest face or whatever. But today imo it's more extreme. pulling out cumming then pushing the cum back inside the person... safe wise and the final outcome it's no different. using terms like breeding cum dumping. It comes out imo as if they are boasting about it

BB porn is irresponsible. I would never hire a porn actor/escort who advertises as offering BB sex.

I'll do ya one better. I wouldn't see an escort who has EVER done bare back porn. I don't want to spend time or money on someone who doesn't care enough about themselves or the message it sends

many of the 'well known' guys bare back they just don't advertise it. beware those who do. they've got nothing to lose
