listened to some of the music samples pedestrian lyrics but with hot enough guys it might be worth a senior Wednesday matinee discount ticket

Pedestrian is being nice. That goes for the music too. Besides being pretty uninteresting, it's all so immature cutesy-wutesy...a pale imitation of the kind of stuff that Tom Wilson Weinberg got away with back in the 70's and 80's because it was a new and titillating and somewhat shocking thing to write frank (and cutesy) songs about gay sex...but I tend to think we've gone way beyond that now, and that we've hopefully grown up a lot. (Then again, Naked Boys Singing held on for a long time...still, I don't know if this show really has NYC written all over it...)

There's some incredibly skilled writing in shows such as Coleman/Gasman's The Life, to say nothing of more classic shows like The Best Little *****house In Texas and Sweet Charity etc, or songs like Cole Porter's "Love For Sale" - the subject of prostitutes has been covered in musicals in daring and skilled ways, and in ways that are entertaining but not cheap. To me this show just seems cheap and crass and amaeurish. I wish they would aim to write something a bit classier instead.
