Hey guys a month or 2 ago there was a thread about a sting that was going on in a couple of NY hotels and the hotels were named. But I can't find the thread. And there have been a few other references in other threads to NY hotels that are known for that. It seems to be fairly well known. Can anyone tell me the names of the hotels or where to find the thread about that? I think it was either in the Lounge or the Deli. Thanks.

C'mon guys, can't anybody help?

When this came up a month or 2 ago several people chimed in and obviously were aware of it from before and knew the names of 2 or 3 Manhattan hotels that were known for this.

Also, the Milford Plaza (44th St. and 8th Ave) and the Edison (47th St between Broadway and 8th). The Gaiety dancers were told not to stay at the Edison due to their security. Hope this helps...

I often stay at the Marriott Marquis, and have brough escorts there. Can someone tell me how this sting works, so I can make sure I avoid it. Thanks!

Actually, it was the escorts who were being set up supposedly, not those hiring. So I doubt you have anything to worry about, particularly if you are hiring those that have multiple good reviews here.

I've been staying at the Edison for years - except for five years up the street at the Paramount until they changed their corporate rate a few years back to require 100 nights a year and I'd only stayed 48 that year!

Although I understand that the Edison is a problem hotel for dancer/escorts to stay in, it's NOT a problem to have them as visitors. Take my well-experienced work for that.

Yeah but except if the escorts are wary of taking outcalls in those hotels.

If you're in there and want someone to come over they could think it's a sting.

The Marriot Marquis is one and the Mildford Plaza has long been a problem. If you are visiting a guest at the Millenium on 45th, you must show ID and your bag may be checked when you arrive to go to the guest's room. Careful what you pack.

The cheap motels in Jersey past the Lincoln Tunnel are becoming increasingly popular. I have a guy who doesnt want to bring his car into the city, so we have been going there for a while.

Hi guys

Just wondering is there any hourly charged hotel (or something like bathtub in SF) in NYC? how much would it cost, would it be better to get a room from priceline instead?

Well, I'm not sure when you last stayed at the Edison - or if you know what kind of a room to ask for there. Maybe ten or twelve years ago the place had started getting a little threadbare which is when I went up the street to the Paramount (where the very attitudinal rooms which match the very attitudinal lobby, etc. can be nice but about the size of a good closet). After they did the rate jump, I went back up to the Edison where, lo and behold, they had stripped the lobby ceiling, walls, floors, etc. back to their rather glorious deco original and installed a significant new front desk. And the usually ample rooms were in various stages of remodeling. The newest are in very tasteful neutral contemporary. The second-newest generation are a rather genteel, slightly overdone victorian which are comfortable and more than servicable. There is an outstanding new excercise room on the top floor - one of the best I've seen. I will admit I don't get the rather famous Edison Cafe - the coffee shop downstairs. Now there's a dump and the food's lousy. I travel a lot and will tell you I find this hotel very comfortable and with excellent service, well-located for my business, restaurants, theaters (including the Gaiety which I accidentally discovered years back!) and the best value for what you get in NY.
