A question for clients...how soon is too soon to advertise?

I generally have a buffer zone of 1 month advertising whenever I plan to travel someplace. I kind of just factor in everyone may not be looking at a particular site within 1 weeks time and feels too soon.

 

But now, I'm almost considering changing things a bit. Seems like advertisng far in advance isn't necessarily that much better than just showing up 1week in advance. On a recent trip, I advertised for nearly a month and was shocked that my schedule was only filled by the client who flew me in...with 1 person booking me while I was already on the beach with a guy 2 years younger than me who had me so mesmorized I didn't hear my phone ring. However, I was able to put an ad up on a non-escort site and went to see a client from the 1st response. Which equated to advertising 45 minutes in advance. Wow. Of course, I wasn't requiring any extra business, but it would have helped stave off some of the expenses. Plus I like meeting clients in other cities.

 

However, prior to arriving I was getting calls and texts here and there asking if I was in town...which I wasn't. Then I get there, nothing. Even if a particlar area is saturated...I'd of thought a month of advertising would have been sufficient. In some places it is, other places it's less. I also have a feeling that some guys are contacting me when they are in the mood...2 weeks prior to my arrival, then when I do get in the desire passes.

 

As a client, if you see a guy online you like...how long does it take for you to set aside your schedule/finances to go forward with it? Is all of this just arbitrary?

When I am booking an overnight or longer, or if travel (a flight for myself and/or the escort) is involved, I prefer to book well in advance. If I am going to book for an hour appointment, somewhere between a few days and a few hours advance is preferred. I would rarely respond to a traveling escort posting in advance but might if it were someone I really wanted to see that was coming to my city. I also watch the travel forums and advertising closely and make a note of escorts that pre advance their travel only to repeatedly change or cancel their plans so I can avoid them completely.

 

So basically if i was hiring for an hour appointment I would not respond to an ad other than within that 1 week time frame. I would love to be able to contact an escort within an hour or two notice if I was very horny and wanted some fun on the spot, but I would only do that if they openly stated in their ad that short notice was ok.

I need to plan in advance to free up time for a session. I usually hire for longer than an hour because I like to get to know the guy and the session is more than sex for me. All that being said, I think a week in advance is plenty of time to work out a plan.

I never plan in advance. I only do one hour appointments. If i'm in the mood, I look at the ads and call an hour before I want to get together. It's always a last minute decision.

I generally don't contact an escort more than a few days ahead of the desired "date". However, there seem to be plenty of guys on here that like to book 1-2 weeks in advance. It seems to me that advertising more than 1-2 weeks before arrival is probably not needed.

I am a lot like D2B. I will arrange a hire a few weeks in advance if I am traveling and really want to make sure the escort is available. For a hire in town for an hour or two, I rarely make arrangements past the week that I am interested in. If I hear you correctly, let's assume you came to LA and I saw your ad like a month out. I doubt that I would call you more than a week in advance. If however I was traveling to your city, then I would most definitely make some arrangements with you around the time that I booked air and hotel, about a month from my travel date. While I rarely hire here at home, my personal schedule without meeting an escort is usually so full that when I do hire at home I plan about two weeks in advance. Much less than that my work and volunteer activities fill up my calendar.
