It's always a good idea to have a backup space heater. I realize this won't work if the power is out; but at least once a year my heat goes out for one reason or another, and this takes the edge off while it's being fixed.

It looks like Rentboy is back. Although one link I tried didn't work, the others I tried seem to be working.

It may be one of those "it depends on where you live whether your service provider has refreshed its something or other to point to the right place", but it is not up for me as of yet.

All you boys can breathe easy now and start stimulating the economy again !

Well I am much more happy about being able to "stimulate" other things rather than the economy :)

I really feel bad for the working guys who lost lots of income from this unfortunate occurence--particularly those who were travelling to other than their home cities.

There is no way to recover the lost wages, but I would hope Rentboy might make an adjustment in the working guys' fees for the time period the site was down

I guess that bears mentioning considering this is an Escort site, but really come on now. Not only escorts lost income, and with a little ingenuity, they can make up that income, unlike many people who have NO jobs to go to and therefore WONT get paid, or those who totally lost their homes and ALL worldly possessions. I think I bit more sensitivity and redirection of sympathy is needed here. ?

Sorry, if there was a misunderstanding. I, in no way, intended to imply that my post was meant to equate this situation with the grave losses many people are being forced to endure physically and emotionally because of Sandy.

I don't see how expressing sympathy for one group implies a lack of sensitivity to all the others.

Well Seek, thats you then. Thats why we are different people and see things differently. An escorts income is by nature quite variable, It ebbs and flows. This was an ebb time. Sorry my heart wasnt aching for them as there were too many others that REALLY needed my support and prayers. I would bet my life on the fact that the escorts pool of client resources was NOT depleted by the storm. But I understand that this site is designed to focus on a particular group, and for that reason alone I will agree it bears mention.

I believe that other posts here have stated that some escorts are seeing a reduction in clients while rentboy is down. I hope that none of them have encountered financial hardship because of it. (The fact that their income may be variable doesn't make an extra 'ebb' period less impactful - loss of work is loss of work.) But I have enough sympathy to cover everyone who suffered from Sandy, and hopefully my financial support went to victims who needed food, shelter, etc.

Well you are a better man than I Seek. I witheld financial aid, and instead opted to volunteer pretty much 24/7 at relief centers here in NYC, helping familys that lost everything, and who had been split by the storm when the shelter couldnt accommodate all their family members, and only going home to shower and sleep for a few hours, and post to the daily pic Gallery here. I like continuity.... but seriously, it was heart-wrenching. I really dont believe us New Yorkers realized the full impact of Katrina until now.

It was back this morning but now it's down again.

They continue to have power issues. I suspect it'll be spotty for the next few days. As of this writing it's up, but who knows for how long.

I salute you, and everyone who gave time, money, or whatever they could, to help.

Seems to be down again, and pictures weren't coming through in the brief period when it was working. I guess they're not quite ready for prime time yet. It may be a week or two before power is reliable downtown, and who knows how long out in the Rockaways.

After a glitch yesterday, I was able to get my ads back up, both in Vegas & Palm Springs for Leather Pride Weekend.

Personally speaking: you don't know what you have until it's gone. Glad they're back up & hope everybody recoups quickly (on ALL levels).
