I now officially and finally join my peers (belatedly I know) in calling these guys what they are: incompetent! The site is called ," Men 4 RENT now," and we cannot say what the RENT is???? My potential new clients are wasting valuable time calling/texting and emailing me about RATES. Likewise I am spending about an hour extra a day simply answering correspondence on RATES. I believe the rates should be crystal clear in the ads (as they are on rentboy.com and rentmen.com) If a guy does not want to post his rates then that is his choice but I have always done it. There are clients who cant or wont afford my hourly rate of 200 who are put in an awful and awkward place of having to answer when I state my rates. Had they known it was 200 they would not have called and would have contacted a guy whose rate is much lower. I feel the actions of this website are RUDE and totally unfriendly to customers. I wish I had the balls to pull my ad with them ............ if ALL of us advertisers would then we could shut them down....but that is not how business works. http://www.rentboy.com/mikey9nola1 http://www.rentmen.com/mikeyusatop

As a client, the only value I see in M4RN is that in some cities they have more listings than Rentboy or Rentmen. My favorite site is Rentmen! I really like that I can put my stats on my profile, can blog post on my profile and other people's too. There are a lot of possibilities. I always go to Rentmen first when looking to hire and give their advertisers preference because I'd like to see more guys advertise there.

To be honest, I have never liked M4RN. I travel a lot, and I used to check-out RB and M4RN for options in the city I was going to. However for the last 12 months, I have only looked at RB (or gayromeo if I am overseas) for potential hires. M4RN seems to have too many guys advertising that haven't changed their ad in years. Isn't it also the case that M4RN leaves expired ads up and visible so it appears they have more guys advertising than they really do?

The policy about not listing rates really is absurd - especially because, as a client, I CAN specify the rate I'm willing to pay if I use their 'Wanted list'.

But I can't hire from other sites if escorts don't advertise on them. Currently, for my city, there are 2 ads on Rentboy, 2 ads on rentmen, and 15 active ads on M4RN.

Escorts have to take the first step if they want to shift business away from M4RN.

Mikey, I can understand your frustration. I mainly check out only RB but sometimes Rentmen. The only time I really go to M4RN is if they are mentioned here or have a review. And perhaps this has been addressed before, but why won't they list rates when the other sites seem to have no issue doing that?

Is it possible to make a low cost web page or something like that somewhere that provides the details about rates and other standard questions you have seen come your way, and then reference that web address for people interested in details in the M4RN ad? Not sure if they allow that or not but if they do it could help you avoid having to answer lots of inquiries.

No, that crappy little site doesn't allow you to post links in your ad either. The other sites do, but egad M4RN sucks.

I agree with everything that has been said. I live outside of Boston and the M4RN sie is loaded. My final straw was a while ago when I saw 3 possible guys I was interested in who were visiting. Turns out that all 3 had been in the area months before, yet their ads implied they were still there. Waste of my time/waste of working guys time. With their new policy of not publishing rates, they are creating more unnecessary time spent by both parties.

There is another thread going about ASK ME rates, which is similar to this. I generally pass on these also. (not always)

I love Rentmen. The ads are real and the images, videos, posted rates, and information are clear and to the point. Just like the guys who advertise on the site. All 4 of my favorite guys advertise there. Wish more working guys would become a part of Rentmen. They seem to making positive advances to make the site user friendly.

Me neither. The place is a hell hole. Their code always seems to be fucked up. And the UI is really ugly and ad infested. Photos are WAY TOO SMALL. Don't know why any escort would waste his money there. A quality, affordable home is not easy to find.

Have never liked M4RNow for all the reasons already stated above.

1) Photos were ALWAYS too small and although some said there were ways of enlarging the, when I tried it they became bey blurry (and useless).

2) I only used this for cities off the beaten path, and even then, you could not completely filter out travelers (those who live elsewhere but were willing to travel)

3) Once they banned the IN and OUT costs, they lost me completely (and as another piinted out, why is it I - as a client - can post what I am willing to pay/hour but the escort cannot post what he wants/hour??? Go figure.

I PREFER by far Rentmen, but find they still have not captured a wide market. For instance I am traveling to Bean Town, and they have only 4 or 5 postings; Rentboy has many more; M4RN has even more, but most are no longer working it.

As a client I have principally used http://www.rentboy.com, http://www.rentmen.com and this site for meeting and playing.

As for the escorts themselves, almost all of them have stated that they prefer advertising at the two sites mentioned

in the first line of this post.

Mike, do you have ads at the two sites which I mentioned above?

--------

I have NOT liked the general layout of http://www.men4rentnow.com; I definitely have NOT liked trying to read full reviews, let alone posting

them, and I have abhorred the general rating review section that is connected with that site as well as its overall format.

In Atlanta at least, RentMen is starting to pick up some steam. It has 28 ads posted now. That's double what it would typically have just a few months ago. The scales might finally be starting to tip toward RentMen at Men4rentnow's expense -- it can't happen soon enough.

You well-reviewed escorts on Daddy's could do a lot to help make the move happen.

m4rn met a need in the past. I have met many hotties advertising there over the years, but it's time has come and gone. I expect it will meet the same demise as malescort4u dot com, meetlocalmen, etc. Good riddance!

This is what I needed to know... when I first started back in 2009 I tried M4RN, and it was a total waste of time on every level (plus I feel it is unpolished to the point that my own sense of professionalism would be compromised by appearing on it). But RentBoy has been offline so much since Sandy hit that my business has come unraveled. I simply MUST get another ad up, but I just checked the rates at M4RN and they want WAY MORE than Rentboy, and their site is so bougie! This decided it for me... I'm getting an ad on RentMen - that is where I was leaning anyway, but this convo just confirmed what my instinct was telling me. I had an ad on RentMen back in the day, but it didn't net me anything; however, now that Rentboy is broken all the time, this may help RentMen finally build critical mass.

There are 30 ads on RentMen right now for Atlanta. A few months back, it was about half that. This could be the tipping point toward that critical mass.

I sincerely hope you're right, but there's no improvement (and possibly some decline) in North Carolina. Not a single listing for Charlotte (unless Devon has placed his ad in the last couple of hours).

But I've also noticed a decline on M4RN.

Ok. I'll admit it. I think that pretty much all of the major "three" sites could use some improvement. Does that mean that when I'm looking to hire I don't go to all three to browse around? No. Obviously my dealings with M4RN are such that I could never confirm Mikey's claim that the site is totally unprofessional...I'm a seeker not an advertiser. I don't necessarily ever trust their reviews or stars. But I look, make contact, and develop my own opinions of the guys and whether they would make a good match for a hire...no matter the site being used. In serving a purpose as an introduction, I think all three sites do that job. Since all three do have a different group of advertisers, it only benefits those of us who hire to have the assorted sites. Bad that M4RN dropped prices from its listings? probably. But...I have found that many times those prices were just guidelines anyway. So, here I sit reading these comments and saying to myself...But does that mean you won't go there when looking to hire? ...or be hired? I guess the economics of the deal will have the final say. Just saying....it's not all green or blue the way I see it...
