My go-to guy says his appointment for tonight says he is a probation officer. As an escort, would you worry about that? Any precautions?

No, if they have told you up front I wouldn't really worry. I have a client who is in the same profession. His taking normal precautions should be good if he is normally cautious.

Why do you suppose a client would volunteer his profession especially if haven't met yet? Its never been asked and I've never volunteered it prior to a mtg. Maybe a good reason someone would do that but I cdon't get it (yet).

I find that highly unusual too. Especially for someone who is charged with the responsibility of ensuring the people they are supervising are not breaking the law. Something's a bit off about that for me.

Don't know, seems very strange. Why would someone in such a sensitive profession volunteer that info?

People in many different professions want what they want but cannot always be open at work. I have seen a few in law enforcement and only one didn't tell me ahead of time and I asked as soon as he got in my house. They know we can tell and don't want the door slammed in their face when they get here.

Perhaps the client wants to come off as being macho. I can see other people saying "Hi, I'm a personal trainer, Navy Seal, pilot, pro football player, etc" to give that impression.

As long as he is not your parole officer, i do not see the problem. of course,if he is your parole officer, you had best being doing it for free at the point where you meet.

How do you know someone's a cop or in some sort of LE job?

what does your "sixth sense" feel like? When do you get the feeling that the unsub is on the enforcement side of the law?

Well my daddy was a former Chicago DT. I do have a little more experience being around them.

It is something about the way they carry themselves. Even when they're not working they can't get rid of that. When working an UCs clothes can be a dead give-away. Loose fitting top covering the waist. Jeans, loose and a little short in length. Usually a sports team hat, one that is local but out of season so it stands out to easily be identified by the rest of the team.

There is one who works the common, he is dressed as a homeless man. Stinks and all. Most people don't pay close enough attention to notice them though.

what's a DT? Didn't know you were in Chicago - I grew up just west of Downtown (in the Burbs).

Detective.

He was in Chicago before he met my mother in Seattle.

There's a dirty internet story in this somewhere.
