I'm heading to Montreal next week....via Las Vegas going and coming. Don't ask why...it's a long story.

Anyway I'll be staying Monday night and then Friday & Saturday nights in LV. I have only been there a couple times (once to see Celine in 2007) and I'm not really a gambler. Anyone been lately and have any particular restaurant or show to recommend. Is there any decent gay bar there that is welcoming to 50-somethings?

hey EZE...

was just there a couple days ago and the concierge at my place highly recommended this new show at Caesars as humorous, edgy, and a nice change from the Cirque de Soleil stuff....

didn't go as I didn't have time.....I'm sure you'll be amazed at the new stuff there since your last visit....my big favorite is the Bellagio Fountains, especially when a good music choice comes along....

Azdr0710 has given you an excellent recommendation. Absinthe is a show that will make you laugh, give you plenty of eye candy, and possibly offend you all at the same time.

After Absinthe, I would probably recommend Zumanity, which is the Cirque stuff but with an erotic edge.

As far as restaurants go, Vegas has it all. If you are over at Caesar's Palace to see Absinthe, you might want to try Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill. If you prefer a trendy LA steakhouse, try STK in the Cosmopolitan. It would really depend on what kind of food you were looking for to make a good recommendation for you, but there are literally hundreds of great places to eat.

It has been several years since I went to a gay bar there so I am not sure what is good anymore on that front. There used to be a cluster of gay bars between the Hard Rock Hotel/Casino and the airport.

I will be there this weekend as well. Las Vegas is one of my favorite cities. I hope you have a great trip.

Here is a link to one of my favorite websites that can assist you in all things Vegas (including shows, hotels, transportation, restaurants, gambling etc,) http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/

You have to go to ABSINTHE. Just be warned... you may become part of the show! It was the best $75 I've spent in a long time. Get tickets at the half price booth. I think there is a 8pm and 10pm show both nights...

Thanks to az/dtb/blond for your input. All three of you have recommended ABSINTHE the show. I will do that tomorrow I think. I still have to book my hotel. Rates for tomorrow are pretty phenomenal at all the hotels.

I might just stay at Carsars tomorrow and see the show and eat right there. Makes it easy.

Thanks again for the input and the links. You guys have been really helpful.
